Hi Chris,

I'm back.
I kept on looking and I must say, it is not possible to find an I that is doing anything. When I really look I can see everything is on automatic. I do forget this all the time, but then when I focus again, I can see it cannot be true that there is an entity that is in control.
However, I do have a strong believe I am an entity that perceives all of this. There is an instance of consciousness that lives inside Bert's body. This consciousness really feels like it is me. I am experiencing this.

My direct experience tells me the body is being experienced by (my?) consciousness. My thoughts tell me this consciousness is the result of brain activity.

The part in red is valuable direct experience (DE). Great insight and Im happy for you.
The part I did not colour red is something that you could look a little more deeply at. Look at thought, the nature of thought, and what thought does. Does thought label experience? Does a bunch of thoughts make up stories about DE's?. In DE, is consciousness REALLY the result of brain activity?

Remember, at this stage, we are really going for DE'ing.

Please let me know whether you and Chris have managed to find each other again?

Yes, thoughts appearing and disappearing to be followed by the next thought is a DE.

1) Can you give us more to go on? Look at the confusion and let us know a little more expansively where the confusion lies?

2) Do you control thoughts coming and going?

Dear Bert

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, although I won’t go into all the reasons why here.

What I need to say here though is that if you look back to the beginning with Shell, (and as is the policy here in LU) is that an agreement to post everyday is required and sought. Obviously this is not always possible, I understand that, but because the process is intended to be an intense one, this is a commitment we need to make.

I appreciate you have a life to lead and you work and have other commitments that take up your time and I truly respect that. However, I too have a busy life with work, a home to run, children to take care of a dog to walk etc. etc. But I have made a commitment to you and am always happy and willing to meet this commitment fully (with you or anyone that I’m guiding). I do not mention this out of any resentment or martyrdom, simply to show that I understand.

Nothing delights me more than guiding and meeting another’s commitment with the same. And, the same is true with apparent lack of commitment…I eventually tend to meet with same.

So, dear Bert, are you able to increase the frequency of your responses so we can burn through this? If you are then I will be delighted to continue along the path with you- if you wish me to.
