I know I experienced something. I'm not sure if it's real or not. Of course there is some truth to it. I can't say anything about being real.
What is this ‘something’ that you experience? Can you describe it?

perceptions such as current sounds and images.
Do these perceptions exist before you experience them?
In other words, are there ‘un-experienced perceptions’ that then become experienced by you?

They exist as a memory. If things that have been experienced before come back to our minds as a faded experience. For example, for someone who is afraid of dogs, the experience of a dog frightening him by barking comes to mind.

A memory would have to be after, right? My question was if perceptions exist
before they are perceived…
For example, do sounds exist before you hear them? Is sound an actual object that becomes audible when hearing reaches it? Do you experience sound to be independent from hearing?

There is no hearing without sound. A speaker that does not produce sound is considered to be muted. Plugging it in doesn't change anything.
