Yes, that's it! Precisely said what I was trying to get at!

Conceptualizing is one thing but if I listen closely it really is like a talking to myself about how to create this image of the kitchen or bathroom: "this is where the toaster is standing, it's a blue one, and what else is one the cupboard etc etc"

Awesome!

Great! And well done!
Here's the next one for you ...
Focus on the image of me, the separate individual entity, is it an image or an actual entity?

Good night!

An image. Sorry to say so, but it's not more real than the toothbrush or toaster ;-)

Hi Alex
Bit of a busy day so far today .. but here now!
Ok...
If I was to tell you that Santa is real, would you see him in the room right now?
Can you see the difference between the real and the imagined?

Hi Sioned,

No I wouldn't. Just telling me he is real doesn't make him real.

I am not sure... The difference is the real can be experienced with the physical senses, it can be experienced non verbally and pre-conceptual. The imagined is only in the mind sense, and it is made of concepts and ideas and thoughts. I am not sure, I think there is one more thing to it that I don't get :)

until tomorrow, sleep well
Alex

Reality is what is going on, it just happens, I can interact with reality, but not really control it. The imagined is under control - unless we open the can of worms that is the question free will - I can pretty much imagine whatever I want. Imagining Santa doesn't exist does not make him appear. Imagining that the phone I am holding doesn't exist does not make it disappear.

Hi
Looks like my question wasn't worded clearly. What I was meaning to ask was whether there was any difference purely in three visual experiences. Often people find the experience of looking at the real richer, more vivid, more detailed, that sort of thing. What was your experience?

Hi

ah sorry, I thought I wrote about that with the kitchen etc. The imagined is stale, lifeless, still unless the mind moves. It often isn't event the full sensual experience of all senses, often missing are body sensations, like pressure, being in a place and in a certain way of holding the body, temperature etc. Also no smells, or tastes unless I imagine it. In the exercises with the kitchen or bathroom it wasn't even sound. Just visuals, not colorful, not vivid, not rich in detail.

Hi Alex,
Great looking yesterday...
Self is imagined. You can look for the real self, but can it be found?
What's your response?

Self is imagined
This is just a belief for me
You can look for the real self, but can it be found?
I don't know. I would say if there is a real self, it must be possible to find it.

In the outside world there is no self. The experience of self happens inside, in my mind.

Yes, exactly. This is something we'll be exploring further in this work
The experience of self happens inside, in my mind
So is it real? Is it imagined?
