I get what your saying about wanting to stay in a state of bliss. I see how that interferes with the flow. I am distracted because the 9/11 victim compensation fund just changed all their rules. So I am running around getting new documents and all that crap. And I somehow know that nothing is important or real. So a state of constant bliss would be welcome!

No. I can see that experiences come and go and that they are each a unique experience. So do I just wait for different states to come and go or do I spend time meditating and such to try to create a state of mind?

No. States just come and go and i have no control over it.

It was just there. Like most everything it comes from nowhere and it goes to nowhere. I don't have any control over it. It's never like stop and make a decision then proceed. It's automatic.

There is no-one that can surrender. Seeing that is surrendering!

"It feels like I am distracted", "I have to surrender" are thoughts/feelings. Just like the imagined watermelon.
The thoughts are real, but their contents are not.
It is important to be able to distinguish between the actual experience and the arising thoughts and mental images that are trying to interpret and assign meaning to the experience.
What you say by believing "I am distracted", is saying you are an imagined watermelon.
What you say by believing "I have to surrender", is saying an imagined watermelon can control your life.

Mark decides to meditate but if there is no Mark then it must come from the cosmos. Well then, that would mean every decision comes from nowhere. If that's true then all decisions are already made before "Mark" interprets them, right?

Dreaming is experiencing a dream, no difference with experiencing a thought or experiencing seeing a cow.
When dreaming you dont have a head or body (not as in the waking state), but still you are experiencing.
So a body is not needed for experiencing.

Yes, anything that attaches to "I" is not real. The thoughts and desires come from the cosmos, not the "I".
