Re: Looking for a guide to explore the changes of life

It feels like the anxiety will keep creeping in on a deep level no matter how well I see clearly the fact that there is no I, only thoughts, feelings, and sensations that are then attributed to an I.
That might be, but I am not sure that you have seen very clearly the fact that there is no I.
This seeing really helps lessen the anxiety, but it is still there
Seeing there is no self is not a means for lessening anxiety, as it is no means for loosing weight or keeping caries away. If you try to "see" in order to "fix", you give a substance to the stories that keep you from seeing.
This seeing really helps lessen the anxiety, but it is still there. In the way.
What's in the way is the way :)
What if the anxiety is there for good? What if there is no way to get rid of it, to lessen it, etc.

How would it feel if the thought "anxiety should stop creeping in" would be operated out of your brain?

^ I meant: What if you were unable to think that thought, as if it was surgically removed from your brain.

I don't know how it would feel for certain. Are you asking in general how it would feel to not think about anxiety anymore? I imagine it would feel great?

If there's no way to get rid of the anxiety then that's just what will be happening. It would be uncomfortable sometimes but generally I would be fine.

My experience with anxiety is that it is very much tied to a sense of self, so I figured that would relate to seeing through the self clearly if I had a very strong protective reaction to identity.

Contemplate on this for some time. Who says that life has to be comfortable all the time?

This is not a rhetorical question.

There is no guarantee of a completely comfortable life. It's a set of behaviours and thoughts that try and support the conditions of comfort. The attempt to control is illusory. When I observe the behaviours surrounding control it feels like identification is being reinforced. I can see these behaviours and notice that they don't really work.

The mechanisms of identification seem to be for survival, but they create much worry and anxiety. I can't control everything, so there is no guarantee that I will be safe and comfortable all the time.

And the attempt to control is a mistaken behavior of identification experienced through the I. I don't have to do anything things will happen with an attempt to be the doer.

you keep theorizing about the implications and disadvantages of identification.

I think you have to keep it much more simple. Stop using the word "identification".

Who or what wants to have a comfortable life without anxiety?

I have to laugh at myself for all the mental talk and theorizing. In the moment is my answer I guess. I'll stick with direct observation. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

The who or what that wants a life without anxiety, a comfortable life, is a sense in the body that arises as thoughts.

Let's get more precise.

You say that there is a sense in the body that arises as thoughts.

Do you experience this "sense" right now?

Is this "sense" the same as "thoughts"? Or is it a feeling, a sensation? If yes, where in the body does it arise? how does it feel? Does it arise before or after the mentioned thoughts?

Can a sense/a thought want something?

I don't have that sense all the time. Right now I'm unsure if I can feel it solidly. There's an attention present without that sense being there.

Threw sense feels like a body sensation that can be felt in different areas of the body or even the entire body sometimes. Sometimes the sense is behind the eyes.

Usually the sense is stronger after thoughts come up. Thoughts can appear without that sense present.

Sometimes it seems there is a sense present that wants something even if I am simultaneously aware that I shouldn't want that thing. But, saying that a sense that is not permanent wants something just sounds strange to stay.
