Hi ya Steve:

I trust this note finds you well.

Since our last post I’ve been consciously AWARE-ing as I go through my day and being more cognizant of sensations.

As for your book suggestion, I have been spending time reading THE GATELESS GATEcrashers and finding how much I relate to the struggles of the people therein.

It’s clearer now how tricky the mind can be and how ingrained our beliefs are. I’ve been trying to SEE with more clarity since, even though I’ve never found a “me” controller and I know she doesn’t exist, at times I find myself drifting back into the fiction.

Just the other day after my second meditation session, I came across some materials from a former spiritual path. I began to inquire that, in light of my non-duality studies, how do I now feel about these ascended Masters at the core of the teaching.
My inquiry 🧐 eventually uncovered an even older belief— that of the soul.
So since there is no “me” and the person of “me” is just a fiction, so my belief in an eternal soul is also a fiction. This stopped all the wheels in my head for a bit as I found myself dropping into emotion and not wanting to surrender that belief.
Then I thought, perhaps that stable, changeless, limitless part that is my True Self is actually what a Soul is and that I had unknowingly drifted back into thinking the body had a Soul rather than the reverse.

Stopped trying to figure that out after a headache ensued 🤯.

So that’s where I am today.

Any tips?

Best regards

Hi
It’s me again.

I just saw your post from July 3rd.

My apologies but I received no email notification of this post.

☺️YES! I’m still with you.
I’ve just been putting what we’ve discussed into practice. (Also, not being able to connect to post my responses due to those server issues was highly frustrating.)

Best regards and in continued appreciation for your assistance

Hi Theta, I’m glad you’re back. Could you please look back at my post from 30th June at 1:45 and answer those questions. We can then take it from there. Thanks.

Hi Steve::

I trust you had an enjoyable vacation.

Regarding my last post, I’ve had some time to clear a few things up. Like, how can a concept die, or reincarnate?
I was spinning in Mind there for a bit!
Take your time over the next questions and even look at your own answers to the following questions and ask, ‘is that true?.’

There is no self, no doer, no controller and there never has been.

Is this true?

Is it clear?

If anything is not clear, what is not clear?
I had a hard time with DOER-ship but I can finally see it.

There is no self— no doer, no controller. It’s all the fiction of the Matrix and has never been real.
I’ve never seen a controller. It’s not there.
Lately I’ve experienced how automatic my life is lived.
I’ve taken my hands off the wheel and taken my feet off the pedals and life has still rolled on.
It actually felt quite liberating.

Yes. It is clear now.

I think I am.

Let ‘em rip. ☺️

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.

4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?

5) Describe decision & give examples from experience.

6) Describe intention & give examples from experience.

7) Describe free will & give examples from experience.

8) Describe choice & give examples from experience.

9) Describe control & give examples from experience.

10) What makes things happen? How does it work?

11) What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.

12) Anything to add?

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
(1) No. That identity never existed. It was only ever the vapor of an illusion that has vanished in the presence of Truth.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
(2)The illusion of the separate self arose in childhood around the same time as language and the labeling of objects that appeared to be “other than” me. All the authority structures in life accepted that everyone had an individual “I” controller living inside. I never questioned this.
How I see it now is encapsulated by the quote “TO KNOW THYSELF INQUIRE WITHIN,” because when I fought through resistance enough to look…and…look….and look some more, I saw the fallacy. I found no ME sitting at the controls and calling the shots. At best I saw a mind that acted and reacted predictably due to long established grooves like those on a phonograph record.
While looking I had to finally concede to finding no DO-er.
Only smoke and mirrors.
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
(3) It’s liberating! I notice a new relationship with time in that neither stressing nor rushing is possible. The same 24 hour period now feels like 48 and though I’m relaxed and unhurried, whatever needs to get done is accomplished. Imagine that?!
This Awareness of Beingness is always there when I reflect upon it and I know that it will always be there no matter what happens in this outer world simulation.
No more is there a comparison with others or feeling low-esteem-of-self. Instead there are deep breaths and flow into Beingness and being ok with what is.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
(4)Reading a rather lengthy neti-neti manifesto in a book that was recommended.
5) Describe decision & give examples from experience
.
(5) My resistance caused me to look deeper than ever before, trying to debunk some of the statements. However, I continuously looked and found no me.
6) Describe intention & give examples from experience.
7) Describe free will & give examples from experience.
8) Describe choice & give examples from experience.
9) Describe control & give examples from experience.
(6/7/8/9)
Intention; Free Will;Choice & Control are all part and parcel with the false self. Like it, they are a fiction. A non-existent “self” can have no intention, free will, choice or control.
The illusion of these 4 fantasies is what binds one to suffering.
10) What makes things happen? How does it work?
(10) Only consciousness exists. All form is consciousness showing itself in various forms.
Conditions, circumstances and events appear, shift and change because that is their nature.
11) What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
(11) I am responsible for not wasting time looking for an event that can never happen because I AM THAT already.

12) Anything to add?
No, but surely some of my stream of consciousness responses will require further explanation so do let me know.

Best
Theta

Thank you Theta for you honesty. I have a couple of questions from another guide regarding your answers, please see below:
"11) What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
(11) I am responsible for not wasting time looking for an event that can never happen because I AM THAT already."

Another story. So what if he spends time (another story, see Time pointer) looking?
Well, 10 & 11 are cute, but not quite there.

"What makes things happen? How does it work?
(10) Only consciousness exists. All form is consciousness showing itself in various forms.
Conditions, circumstances and events appear, shift and change because that is their nature."

The problem is that he's claiming to know the unknowable. This is a *story*

Please ask about this.

I’m still not quite sure what this ??? is asking me.

As all humans have, there’s responsibility for abiding by societal laws, working, paying my bills and taxes, but as life is living me this all happens naturally. The natural state “me” has no responsibility though it still feels odd to state this.
