OK -- these energetic releases are a good sign -- a tip would be to trust sensation and not thought in these things!I feel clear about seeing there is no inherent self and feel open and happy about it and much lighter and having quite a surge of energy this morning.
It's natural that doubts such as this arise from time to time intitially. The key is to be in contact with some supportive people who see things clearly. I can make some recommendations later.I'm not sure about a paradigm shift. It was a soft shift if I could put it like that. I suppose it takes people differently. It will be interesting to see what happens now, whether it all fades away when I stop directly thinking about it in an intense situation like this.
Let's not get too caught up in models. The recognition that there is no "self" or no separation is available to all people and is expressed differently in different traditions. The 10 fetters is (but one) Buddhist formulation. Be careful that once the self view has fallen you don't get caught up in further "seeking". Just relax into what has been seen for a while. Of course there is always more to be seen -- again trust the way that the energy feels in the body to guide you as to what needs to be looked at -- just as you did previously with the sense of contraction. In some way I feel completely different and in another way I don't feel any different. Breaking the first 3 fetters is supposed to be permanent but can it fade if not given much attention?
OK now I'll ask you some "summing up" questions to see if these bring up any issues we may need to explore further -- remember to answer these from what you have seen -- and not from thought!
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
5) Can you talk about decision, intention, free will, choice and control? What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
6) Anything to add?
