Hi Jay,
What is running on automatic is stuff like breathing or my digestive system. So, that is automatic. The choice I make with my reasoning.
Can you find the point at which you make the choice?

Can you find the "I" that would be making this choice?

Whose reasoning? Who is this "my"? Or is there just reasoning happening?
I make my choice inside my head.
Can you find an "I" who actually makes a choice? Does the "I" live inside your head? Really? Can you find it?

Thank you,
Dyann

No

NO

I think it is my awareness that is slighly outside of my body reasoning.

No I can't find it.

We don't want to "think" something is so --- we want to actually LOOK and see what we find or not. Can you actually find a thing you are calling "my" awareness? Can you find what this "my" is --- or is it just awareness itself? Can you see awareness slightly outside of your body? And if you cannot --- how could this imaginary thing be reasoning?

Thanks Jay.

. Can you actually find a thing you are calling "my" awareness?
No it just feels like a huge space behind me.

Can you find what this "my" is --- or is it just awareness itself?
It seems to be just awareness it self
Can you see awareness slightly outside of your body? And if you cannot --- how could this imaginary thing be reasoning?

I can't see it, nor feel it. It just seems to be a big space behind me.

Hi Jay,

Thank you. Lets explore "you" as the thinker...

Are YOU the thinker of thoughts?
Can YOU think and choose a thought?

Please answer from direct experience.

Best, Dyann

Are YOU the thinker of thoughts?
Some thoughts just pop us. So, I'm not the thinker of those. However, if there is like a math problem It seems like I'm the thinker of those thougts.

Can YOU think and choose a thought?

Yes

Remember we want to LOOK rather than vaguely stating what something "seems" like - okay?

Please look at a math problem....ie: 2+2=4. Can you find the "I" that thinks about the problem or comes up with an answer?
I asked: Can YOU think and choose a thought? You answered: Yes
Please actually try this --- can YOU think and choose a thought? Can you find the YOU that thinks and chooses a thought? Where is your proof?

Thank you, Dyann

At firs it seemed like it was in my head. But then I kept asking my self the question and it seemed as if the calculation was in my head. However, I could not find the I

You mentioned you wanted me to look, Can you explain that in more detail. In other words when you ask me questions how should I best approach the answer.

Please actually try this --- can YOU think and choose a thought? Can you find the YOU that thinks and chooses a thought? Where is your proof?
Most of my thoughts I do not choose they just come up from someplace.

Here you are asking can I choose a thought. The answer is yet. I chose to think about another math problem.

Now can I find the you that chose that thought. No it is vauge it seems like it could be in my head or slighly outside of my head in the space around me.

Best, Jay

Hi Jay,

When I say LOOK I mean that literally --- can you find an "I" or a "you" that thinks or choose thoughts? Please answer.

Thank you, Dyann

Hi Jay,

Let's look at and see what you find in terms of a "self" in and as the body.

"does the body experience sensations and thought?
or
is the "body" just another thought label for sensations (namely tactile & kinesthetic)?"

Thank you, Dyann

I'm not sure what you mean by this question can you rephrase please.

If your asking is the body feels sensations like tough. I would say yes it does.

Thanks,
Jay

Hi Jay,

Please look again at your direct experience.

Does the body experience thoughts and sensations or are there just thoughts, sensations and a body?

Thank you, Dyann

This one I'm having some difficulty with. So, I will just write out what comes up.

The thoughts seem to be outside the body.

The sensations like say emotions let's say you cry that is in the body.

The last part of the sentence when you write "and a body" I don't quite understand.

Yes, I understand that I'm not really the body that I am awareness. However, there is still a physical body here taht feels sensations. I'm not that. I'm awareness but it is still here.

Thanks,
Jay

Hi Jay,

Sorry for the confusion - please allow me to retract and reframe the last inquiry question.

"does the body experience sensations and thought?
or
is the "body" just another thought label for sensations (namely tactile & kinesthetic)?"

Thank you, Dyann
