So one has to play the game or act in the drama to some extent?
Isn't even knowing that its just a play and thus acting accordingly also part of the play?
The rules have changed as you know that its a play, still we are playing...
But: Is it more than a game of thought ping pong? Take away the identification with thought and the play turns into simple presence, life unfolding... Thought is part of it, just like sound is part of it...
I feel like I still need to do something almost like a bit lost not to be very intensely seeking!
I guess thats very normal... seeking stops and for once is not replaced by any other pressing activity - what remains is a bit of a vacuum, a void... Enjoy the void! Its not empty and boring as thought might pretend... look at it...

Yes everything seems to be thought ping pong even now. I've found it surprising how easily thought takes over and there are stories of 'me'.

Then a shift of focus to looking but how does that happen? Back to intentions and decisions and there being no I to have intentions or make decisions. But it does seem that a thought or intention towards realisation/understanding makes it more likely to happen and it seems that it would as there's no separation. It's life unfolding as you say.

Thank you for this, yes, it's wonderful looking. mind does keep butting in though perhaps more than before. Any suggestions would be welcome.
'i' used to meditate a lot but it seems difficult to focus now for some reason.

Thanks Alex.

Hi Jill,
mind does keep butting in though perhaps more than before. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I would say that this is just a normal phase of adapting to a new way of being... new conditioning is being built.
Try to remain consciously present as much as you can. You will still get lost in thought a lot - especially in the beginning - but the more you realise that this is happening the more you will remain present. Its a strange thing as there really is no one to be present or not, but it is still happening and you will live less and less in story land... At the start it might seem like an effort to "hold on to presence", but eventually it will be a bigger effort to remain in thought world :-)

Anyway, this is how it works for me - you might find another path...

Do you use Facebook? If so can you please send me a private message on this forum with your FB name? We can then invite you to join the LU Facebook forums. A LU admin will also contact you soon with more details.

If you wish we can also continue talking on this forum but we should open a new thread in the Unleashed section of this forum.

Regards
Alex

Thanks Alex, that's very helpful and reassuring. Mind does like to keep saying 'you've lost it, it's gone' and all that sort of rubbishy fear stuff! I was reading Soh's post on LU, Integrating View and Experience and the part that stood out for me was about being 'I Am presence'. As you say, it is a paradox because at that point there's no-one to be presence but still, it works...

If you have the time for a bit more conversation, I would like that. I haven't found the unleashed section yet but I'll have a look.

Thank you Alex.

Jill
