OK!
So what is that like?
How is seeing this different from before?
Any questions, hesitations, concerns?
Any observations you’d like to share?

So what is that like?
When being aware of things happening there is a detachment like whatever happens good or bad doesn't matter or there is no preference for either as preference comes when thoughts come in judging the event or thing as good or bad "I" like this or don't and because of the detachment...that space life seems more peaceful things are happening as always but it's different.
How is seeing this different from before?
Awareness of everything happening happens a little easier now and I guess more often and therefore it's easier to see the peace behind I mean everything it's like dropping into the background.
Any questions, hesitations, concerns?
How does it last? I mean its getting easier to just watch things happen but it seems it passes away just as fast. I mean there is no me to get weaker or die its just a realization and the feeling or belief thats deeply ingrained is I have to work at it weaken it practice etc.

Oh Yeah, that’s good to hear! When being aware of things happening there is a detachment like whatever happens good or bad doesn't matter or there is no preference for either as preference comes when thoughts come in judging the event or thing as good or bad "I" like this or don't and because of the detachment.. .that space life seems more peaceful things are happening as always but it's different.
OK, you seem to have seen that there is no “I” doing anything, and now life is easier and more peaceful.Awareness of everything happening happens a little easier now and I guess more often and therefore it's easier to see the peace behind I mean everything it's like dropping into the background….. its getting easier to just watch things happen.
Next experiment: Let’s see if there is an observer.
In Direct Experience, is there both an observer and that which is observed? [/b]
This is very important.
Accept nothing but Direct Experience, not thoughts or words about it.
Then, tell me about it. Take time for Direct Experience until it is clear.
Then take time to compose a complete and careful answer.
Again, it is best to compose your writing in your text editor, then copy and paste it here, and use the quote function.
So Close!!

Re: Guide Available Now
Pablo I'm not sure I have. the feeling of peace to me is letting things happen or not resisting the present moment but the sense of "I" still lingers just feels like letting go feels easier if that makes sense. Not Sure.OK, you seem to have seen that there is no “I” doing anything, and now life is easier and more peaceful.
I will focus on the question you asked and get back to you.
Thank you
Mike
Re: Guide Available Now
Ok, thanks and no worries. In due time, you will be sure!Pablo I'm not sure I have.
Great. Glad to hear that.the feeling of peace to me is letting things happen or not resisting the present moment but the sense of "I" still lingers just feels like letting go feels easier
You have already found “no me in focusing. Focusing is basically awareness and awareness just happens no thought or actions behind it.”
Now apply the same observational skills to “letting go”. Can you find an “I” that is doing the letting go, or is "allowing" things to happen?
Furthermore, is the sense of I an actual I? If not, what is it? Look Look Look.
Thoughts about this will drift in and out, that’s ok. But thoughts are not what you are attending to.
You are not cloud watching here, you are looking at the sky. Is there a real I anywhere to be found? LOOK!
:-)
Re: Guide Available Now
Forgot to say I may not be available again until Friday.
Re: Guide Available Now
These words really made a lot of sense to me. I think I have been looking at the clouds and forgetting about the sky. Wonderful words! Since you won't be back till tomorrow I think I'll take another day before I respond.Ok, thanks and no worries. In due time, you will be sure!Pablo I'm not sure I have.

Re: Guide Available Now
Sorry I messed up the quote but I'm sure you knew the words I meant. :)
Re: Guide Available Now
Yeah, probably every one of us who goes through this has had to struggle to get over that, so congrats!I think I have been looking at the clouds and forgetting about the sky.
Keep looking for the Looker. Is there one?
And when thoughts occur, of any kind, is there a Thinker?
My contact will be erratic for the next few days--left my laptop at an airport security checkpoint, and using borrowed computers. Should get it back in 2-3 days.
Closer and closer,
Pablo

Just wanted to apologize I was babysitting my kids all weekend and didn't get a chance to get online or do much else for that matter. But I love it. :)
Anyways as for the looking at the clouds I realized that a lot of times I was looking directly at the thoughts and actions and forgetting to look for the thinker and doer (sky). This weekend I looked at my 1 year old daughter and completely agree there is no me there everything she does is amazing, pure and innocent when you really look its so obvious in a baby there is no me. Now when it comes to me it's a bit tougher when I continue to look for the thinker I don't find one its happening and I don't know where it comes from I think i'am thinking but when I look I am not the thoughts come from nothing which I can't explain how I do it if when I look i can't find the source of it and that goes for everything actions feelings all arise from nothing no evidence at all I am doing it more like associating with the thoughts and actions and story etc. I know my daughter doesn't think to walk she just does, everything she does is just happening to her no thoughts no me. I was amazed by her to say the least.

Re: Guide Available Now
Beautiful story about your daughter, Mike.
Is there someone or something doing the thinking and acting, or are there just thoughts, actions, etc.?
You haven't been able to find a doer, but seem to still assume there must be one there!!!
It's wonderful to see your looking getting sharper and more focused.
So just keep looking, and soon enough, I promise, you will see/know with beautiful clear certainty whether or not there's a doer/thinker!
Mike, that's the point.I can't explain how I do it

Re: Guide Available Now
Ok Pablo there is no one or no thing doing the thinking or acting thoughts come up then come actions or emotions or sometimes actions happen and thoughts come after to analyze or associate etc. I see this I have looked over and over and sometimes it feels like I'm just repeating the same thing to you over and over I wanted to write yesterday but I felt I had nothing new to say and after retreading above I was right I know I'm looking but it seems like something is holding me back from really looking. ( Still focusing to much on the clouds passing while the sky is really what I need to look at)Beautiful story about your daughter, Mike.

Re: Guide Available Now
Mike, now look for what is being held back.
Is there really something that is being held back, or is there just _______ occurring at the time?
Is there really something that is being held back, or is there just _______ occurring at the time?
Re: Guide Available Now
Still trying to get clear on what's holding me back I believe I got over the fear still trying to figure it out.
Re: Guide Available Now
Mike, as long as you're trying to figure it out, you'll never get there.on what's holding me back
You absolutely have to put aside trying to figure it out, and just Look. If it could be figured out, it could be explained. If it could be explained, you'd already have it.
There is an assumption implicit in what you are saying, and that is that there is
a] a you, that is being held back by
b] something.
That assumption, which is implicit in our language and culture, IS the problem.
LOOK at what is actually happening, in the present moment, when you just look at what is happening in the present moment. Thoughts happen, but the content of those thoughts are distractions. Just watch the thoughts for how they occur, how, like clouds, they appear, then drift away. Pay exquisite focused attention to what you are calling "something holding me back", but DO NOT THINK about it. Thoughts about it will come and go, just let them, but they are the clouds and you are looking at the limitless sky in which they occur.
For the purpose of seeing through the illusion of self and separateness, you must not pay attention to the content or meaning of thoughts. For our purpose here, content and meaning are noise, distractions. You must accept this, and just Look!
