ButtChair is your default pointer. Keep looking with that, too.
I have tried that pointer, then I saw there is no division between my butt and the chair, so I stopped doing it, thinking it was enough to just see it once.
Maybe I’m underestimating this investigation. I’m seeing it as unrelated to the investigation of no-self.
Okay, I will do this exploration mainly and see what else I could discover.
Sincerely,

It is completely related. It is the only pointer I was given. You want to keep going back to LOOKING & knowing there's no separation over & over again.
It is a meditation.
No separation in the only thing to discover.
Again. I did ONLY ButtChair for 3 month. Then I saw. I was in my car sitting at a stop sign and I looked at the window. Everything glowed. I felt very peaceful, kind of high.
Have you read Gateless Gatecrashers?

Okay! I will do the ButtChair thing.

That’s a nice story

Yes I have read it before. I also have read Ilona’s other book and Elena’s other book as well. I have read them before COVID19 pandemic

, I think.

Hi Stacy,
This is my daily report. Even I missed a day without excuse.
I’m doing the “ButtChair” exercise. I’m doing it while driving and sometimes as full “meditation” on the meditation mat. I also apply it to my back and bed when I’m on bed before sleep. And my feet and floor when standing. It gives me the feeling that I’m connected and not a discrete separate thing, even sometimes I feel I’m connected to the air around me.
I also restarted reading “Love What Is” to look at my beliefs and thoughts, as you advised earlier during the beginning of our conversations.
Sincerely,

Hi Stacy,
Sorry I didn’t report since 2 days, but I was passing through emotional storm, since I started investigating the nature of thoughts and beliefs.
I’m still doing the “ButtChair”. I like it, I feel it has some depth I didn’t understand before.
I’m also questioning my beliefs/thoughts and doing the 4 questions and turn around.
When I do the “ButtChair” I can’t find a body. Just like the “apple”.
Sincerely,

Excellent.
The only way to fail is to give up.
Remember you're looking for what is true and that means what can be found with direct experience not thinking.

Hi Stacy,
Remember you're looking for what is true and that means what can be found with direct experience not thinking.
You are right Stacy!
Since sometimes I have noticed my thoughts are mainly mental images, in contrast to others, who would see / hear their thoughts as written/ spoken words inside their heads. That’s why I wasn’t related to Eckhart Tolle and Michael Singer when they talked about the voice inside the head.
I also have a voice inside my head but most of my thoughts are mental images, and mostly still images or abstract images that I gave meaning to them.
After I started re-reading Byron Katie and questioning my thoughts, I was looking into these images and it is interesting to close my eyes and I can still see images of my body that is no way I can see while my eyes are closed or even impossible because I need a mirror or a camera connected to a drone flying around me to be able to see them. They are All thoughts as mental images.
I have never questioned them before, I took them as real and important, when in fact they are just images and if I show you these images, you won’t know what they mean, but I have assigned meanings to them.
That takes us to the no-self. I can see now that they are all related. The labels, the Apple, The sense of self, the thoughts.
I’m doing the ButtChair while closing my eyes and can’t find a separation, just diffuse sensation. But the images of me sitting, my butt and the chair is telling me there is a clear separation. Those images are not real. Not direct experience. How do I know? I can see the images of my butt and the chair from the side while my head is looking straight forward
Sincerely,

Yes once we actually look.it's simple & obvious.
Engaging that space is opening you to seeing the truth of no self.
Try these. Be sure to listen to the Introduction first.

Hi Stacy,
Can the Mind / Ego retaliate with vengeance once we start questioning the thoughts?
I’m inquiring and questioning my thoughts and it is an interested discovery to see how deep I’m fused with these thoughts and believing them. I also continued with the “ButtChair” looking and once I do the “ButtChair”, I see every thing is connected like one thing. As if the “ButtChair” is an entry point to see everything is one.
I also have listened to two of the “I’m Complete” meditation (Everything is God and Beginning of thought). So simple but strong!
But then, as it happened to me before, the mind comes back strong and chaos erupt. Situations around me start to trigger me and I fuse more with my thoughts and emotions erupt from every direction. As if the mind is saying no or there is a force blocking me from going further. Frustrating!
Sincerely,

Hi,,,
Mostly good on your practicing.
But the mind is flimsy! Thoughts are *nothing*. They have no weight. No force. They literally don't matter! It can't do "vengeance" or anything like that.
Are any fears coming up? There is a meditation for that.
Emotions are simply Sensation plus a label & those flimsy thoughts. The same Sensations may have different labels depending on what you're thinking.
Okay, keep listening to the recordings.
And try this:
Observing Thoughts
Here is a thought exercise. Sit quietly for about 30 minutes and notice the arising thoughts.
Just let them appear as they appear. Try your best to COMPLETELY ignore what they are saying and just notice how they appear without you doing anything at all.
Where are they coming from and going to?
Did you do anything to make a particular thought or thoughts appear?
Could you have done anything to make a different thought appear at that exact moment instead?
Can you predict your next thought?
Can you select from a range of thoughts to have only pleasant thoughts?
Can you choose not to have painful, negative or fearful thoughts?
Can you pick and choose any kind of thought?
Is it possible to prevent a thought from appearing?
It seems that thought has some logical ordered appearance, but look carefully and just notice if there is an organised sequence? Or is that just another thought that says ‘these thoughts are in sequence’ or “they take content from previous thought”, or that ‘one thought follows another thought’?
Can you find an inherent self anywhere, outside of thought?
Can thought experience thought?

Yes you are right. That’s a nice description. I just need to remember this when looking at thoughts.
Are any fears coming up? There is a meditation for that.
There is no fear now, just anger and frustrations. Earlier in our conversation I had something like a panic attack, I felt destabilized then fear, but next day I was okay.
Emotions are simply Sensation plus a label & those flimsy thoughts. The same Sensations may have different labels depending on what you're thinking.
Another nice description. I need to remember this too and give my emotions more space.
And try this:
Observing Thoughts
I will try this exercise and answer your questions then report to you my findings.
