Hi Ghost, here are some additional questions for you. A few guides have them so I'll break them up into more than one post:

1) Can awareness be found separate from the rest of experience? If yes, where is the border?

2) Is awareness you? Or awareness is awareness?

Peace

J

Hi Jeff,
1) Can awareness be found separate from the rest of experience? If yes, where is the border?
No. Experience is awareness.
2) Is awareness you? Or awareness is awareness?
Awareness simply is.

Cool Ghosting, Ghost. Well done. Here's two more from another guide:

1) Re: "this has encouraged me to not need grand experience (though that need certainly isn't fully uprooted altogether)."

Q: So what is your expectation now?

2) Re: "I'm responsible for practicing, clarifying, and expressing wisdom/clarity/compassion. I'm a node in a causal net, responsible for the reverberations of my actions into said net... I'm the formless domain in which the concept of a net arises."

Q: From how you see things now, is this story still necessary?

Enjoy.

Love,

J

Hey Jeff,
Q: So what is your expectation now?
Expectations are appearances. If I'm expecting, I'm hoping/fearing, not being.
Q: From how you see things now, is this story still necessary?
No story is really necessary.

Thank you!

Further questions:

------------------
Tell us more.

1) Is the expectation for that grand experience still there? If yes, what is being expected exactly?

2) Is that particular story about responsibility etc. still being believed and acted upon?

....

J

1) Is the expectation for that grand experience still there? If yes, what is being expected exactly?
I’m not sure ‘grand experience’ is the right term anymore. I was pointing to a paradox. On one hand, all of this—expectations, ideas, and everything else—arises in awareness. When held tightly, these expectations obscure what is, which I believe is your concern.

On the other hand, at the relative level, while initial glimpses reveal the already-completeness of Truth, there remains the process of clarifying and stabilizing. So, there’s an expectation of that—but it’s held lightly, without clinging.
2) Is that particular story about responsibility etc. still being believed and acted upon?
As I mentioned in my original response, it never was in an absolute sense. It’s always been understood as a story—a practical tool for communication, not something to believe in or attach to as an inherent truth.

Dear Jeff,

With deep gratitude and love, I share a quote that touches me.

"Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them."
- Marcus Aurelius

I feel so fortunate to live in a world where the torch has been carried so diligently for so long. I'll continue to keep vigil over this flame.

May you be happy, may you be free.
