Requesting a Guide Please
Re: Requesting a Guide Please
Apologies for not getting back sooner - meanwhile during the hiatus it has been really helpful to see the unfolding flow of process
Things just happen, there is no controller, or observer. They just arise out of conditions.
b)
There never was a self, I just created the self.Good day Buminjah, let's go through these questions and see if there are areas that we might investigate further.
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape, or form? Absolutely no!
Was there ever?
The illusion of the separate self has been a magic trick that has kept me stuck in the prison of the mind. Somewhere, somehow an I emerged and it became concrete, as if it were permanent, and it began constructing all these identities and fooling me to believe that there was this thing called a self, that had a gender, a race, a color, a name, a profession and so forth. So much so that I became separate from the world and Othered.2) Share in your own words what the illusion of a separate self is and how it shows up in experience. Also, through your inquiry, what is different now?
Since going through this - something has relaxed, and can see clearly there is no self and no other. Less struggle, there is nothing to hurt, nothing to love or not love, there is nothing. The mind is emptier, and free of all the junk that made up the self. This unfolding flow is non reactive - it is authentic.3) How does it feel to see this?
What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
The first guide pushed - there was an experience of edginess - and I remember thinking is he humiliating me - and I laughed and could see the self rearing it’s head, and wanting to assert something. In that moment there was nothing to assert, nothing to be humiliated, nothing to be hurt.4) Was there a point where a 'shift' happened? What was it that pushed you over; made you look?
There is no controller or robot or tiny homunculus sitting on the seat of my brain telling me what to do. There is nobody making decision. Things just flow from no thing ness.
5) a) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice, and control. What makes things happen? How does it work?
Give examples from your own recent experiences of how things happen and how things work.
Things just happen, there is no controller, or observer. They just arise out of conditions.
b)
Responsibility - there is nothing to control, or to blame. There is no other. Reactivity has loosened and so no longer do I need to take responsibility for the impact of reactivity. No longer is the self a land mine, a shock absorber, there is nothing for something to stick to - and so nothing to react to.What of responsibility? Give examples from your own recent experiences of how this works.

Re: Requesting a Guide Please
Good evening Buminjah,
Can you tell me how the illusion of a self came into existence?
Don't get me wrong. i like your answers and where it think that they are coming from. i just need you to get around the limitations is conventional language.

I'm guessing that this is just a language thing, but if there isn't a self, how can you create one? There never was a self, I just created the self.
Can you tell me how the illusion of a self came into existence?
You talk as though a self was doing these things. Can you rephrase it using actual examples?it began constructing all these identities and fooling me to believe that there was this thing called a self,

Yes I thought there was a self, I thought I existed, the illusion came into existence because just as I believed in Santa Clause I believed a self existed.I'm guessing that this is just a language thing, but if there isn't a self, how can you create one?
Can you tell me how the illusion of a self came into existence
The self thought it existed, it thought that there was something to be hurt, or attacked. It thought that it had control over things that happened. And so the self thought it existed because it thought that this body was permanent, that the labels it gave it self as female, as daughter, as human was permanent. And so it thought these labels was something called self. In actual fact there was nothing in control and there was nobody doing things,it began constructing all these identities and fooling me to believe that there was this thing called a self,

Re: Requesting a Guide Please
Good morning Buminjah,
Is thought a master or a slave?
Are we separate to thought, and a slave or master to it?
Is thought separate from interaction with others, or part of it?
with love
vince
How did a belief in Santa come about?I believed in Santa Clause
Again, it appears as if you are investing thought with free will and intention. How did the labels that thought used, come about?that the labels it gave it self

Re: Requesting a Guide Please
Good evening Buminjah, Let's run through these questions and see if there is anywhere that needs more investigation.
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape, or form?
Was there ever?
2) Share in your own words what the illusion of a separate self is and how it shows up in experience. Also, through your inquiry, what is different now?
3) How does it feel to see this?
What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over; made you look?
5) a) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice, and control. What makes things happen? How does it work?
Give examples from your own recent experiences of how things happen and how things work.
b) What are you responsible for? Give examples from your own recent experiences of how this works.
6) Anything to add?

Re: Requesting a Guide Please
Good evening Buminjah, Wow. Your answers seem to be from someone else. They lack that which I have come to expect from you. There's a coldness there that isn't usual.
i can imagine that it was a bit tedious to rehash stuff that we have already been over, but I am looking for a couple of things with these questions.
One is to be able to show other guides that you have, at an experiential level, grokked this 'no self' thing.
The other is to find out if there are any areas that need more investigation.
Your answers don't offer either of these things.
Can you combine the answers to 1 & 2 & 3 this way;
Describe how the illusion of an independent self came into being by giving examples from actual experience.
Then give some experiential examples of how life changed for you after seeing through this illusion.
As for 4, can you remember any specific enquiry that resulted in an epiphany?
..and for 5, take each of these and find examples in experience for each of decision, intention, free will, choice, control and responsibility. On looking for an example of that which no longer exists, then an example from before and one from after it changed.
