Hi Mamta

You have done a good exercise then you said :
I is pointing to the separate self- which doesn’t exist.
Have you seen a separate self ?
Have you heard a separate self ?
Have you smelt a separate self ?
Have you tasted a separate self ?
Have you touched a separate self ?

Or "a separate self" exists only as a thought ?

What is knowing that
I is pointing to the separate self- which doesn’t exist.
? Let this question sink during a whole day and give an answer.

Happy new year, best wishes

There is a too much attention given to that which doesn’t exist - which is not experienced in senses of seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and tasting . This separate self is created by the mind( thoughts) and guarded by the fear. It’s only exists in thoughts not in reality. It has become phantom because it has never been questioned. It’s simply believed, or feared or followed.

Many many thanks for keep pointing me to the right direction.wishing you a very happy new year!

Is there awareness you can pinpoint at or is there only being aware of that ? Look.

Have you seen really that there is no separate self or do you say that from what you read in books or elsewhere ?

When an I, a separate self is constructed ? How is it constructed ?

I am going to say that at the moment there is a being aware but there is also a space and that space is peaceful.

All the books/ YouTube videos confirmed that there is a separate self. I didn’t know how to live life without it .Only when I started working with LU I found out that there is no separate self. Now there is a little shift from separate self to a space or a gap. Spending time in this space is peaceful. I am enjoying Looking through the senses.

When an I, a separate self is constructed ? How is it constructed ?
A separate self is an accumulation of past experiences and reactions of the body. Body has to complete its journey so it try to keep it self safe and it learns to reacts in many different ways to survive.I is born here when our parents introduce us to the words like “my child”, “my body” “my house”, “my life” “my personality”. To protect my identity an “I”is born. The “I”interprets reactions of the body.over the time I has become so powerful .
An “I”was constructed when we are very young. First “I”label was given by our parents and then by the society. We grow up believing with very strong belief of “I”. “I do everything”. I label on myself all my life and that is the biggest cause of suffering.

It is not “a being” aware but being (verb) aware. It is an action. Is there a seeing of a being (as an object) ?
What is seeing this peaceful space ?

What books and videos say is not of our concern here. Go deeper in this peaceful space then answer to these questions : What is spending time in this space ? There is no you to look through the senses, there is only looking. LOOK, there is no you, is it true ?

Yes. Now that you have seen that a separate self, “I” is a thought story, does a separate self exist in any shape or form ? Was it ever ? Will it be ?

Thank you for clarifying “a being” and being aware. There was a seeing of a being but that is an identity with the separate self or a thought story.

Not sure what is seeing this peaceful space.?
don’t know why but want say I am...,

Spending time in this space is to be aware of everything that is appearing in the space and not identifying with anything. For example being aware of breathing, being aware of seeing objects like door, plant, t.v, etc. Being aware of hearing sounds appearing in the space footsteps, plane flying, people talking etc. Being aware of touching is holding a hot cup of tea or a cold glass of water. Being aware of smelling flowers or food . Being aware of tasting tea or banana or yogurt .
There is no one looking through the senses that is true. looking is just happening. I the separate self is not there to identify and attach the story. This understanding is growing and identity with “I” is fading slowly.

Separate self does not exists in any shape or form. There was never a separate self and there never will ever be.
Thank you

Hi Mamta

Thank you for your answers. You are doing good stuff. Today, we will a look at what is called a body.

Exercise : sit comfortably and close your eyes. Look at your body then answer to questions :

What is a body outside of thoughts ?
Does it have a size, a weight ?
Are there limits to the body ?
Is there an internal and external ?

Hi Warissem,
It's a new area. I have not paid much attention to body. It's going to be interesting journey.
What is a body outside of thoughts ?
A body is a space outside of thoughts, not any particular shape or size. For example of I touch leg or a book. Thoughts will inform me what I touched and the story with that object.

Does it have a size, a weight ?
No it doesn't have a size or weight.
Are there limits to the body ?
No, there are no limits to body. Only limits are what ”I” impose on it, or our conditioning and our beliefs impose limits on the body.

Is there an internal and external ?
No, all experiences are felt internally in space.
Thank you for your guidance.

Hi Mamta

Close your eyes and look at direct experience : seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching. What is a body in direct experience ?

PS : I want to know what is your mother tongue.

Hi warissem,

My mother tongue is Punjabi. I grew up in pujab, India and came to uk in early 90’s.
Close your eyes and look at direct experience : seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching. What is a body in direct experience ?
I am finding it difficult to experience what is body in direct experience.
When I closed my eyes. There was darkness. There were many sounds appearing at the same time.e.g. driven car, breathing etc.
Smalling, touching and tasting senses were not very active at that time.

Hi Mamta

Anyway you are better than me in english.

There is an exercise for you :

Close your eyes.
With eyes closed, you will now experience 'blackness'. There may be other things you can find going on, sure. If you are looking at a bright light, there may be a red glow. There may be sparkly bits or cloudy flecks appearing and disappearing - It really doesn't matter about the specifics.

Just to make things simple, whatever you can see with eyes closed, I'm going to refer to it as 'black' or 'blackness' just for simplicity.

1) With eyes closed, can you confirm that what is experienced is 'blackness' as I mentioned?
2) Is there anything else in 'seeing' other than 'blackness'?
3) Can what is witnessing the blackness be found?
4) Can a pair of eyes, an 'I' / 'me', a person be found that is witnessing the blackness? Or is there just 'blackness' to be found?
What do you find?

Can an INHERENT SEE-ER be found? Would anything that is suggested as the see-er, be anything other than a concept/idea/thought?

Hi Warissem,
Anyway you are better than me in english.
Thank you! I am just grateful that you understand what I write.

1

Yes, I can confirm that what is experienced is blackness with a small bright light, purple and beige colour and cloudy flecks.

2)
Is there anything else in 'seeing' other than 'blackness'?

Yes, something is aware of the darkness. A witnesser is witnessing the darkness.

3) Can what is witnessing the blackness be found?
I don't know. I never gone far enough to see it.
4) Can a pair of eyes, an 'I' / 'me', a person be found that is witnessing the blackness? Or is there just 'blackness' to be found?
What do you find?

There is no a pair of eyes, an I/me, a person be found that is witnessing the blackness. I don't know if there is anything beyond blacknrss. Don't know how to look there

Thank you for continuous support warissem

What do you expect to see beyond blackness ? There is only what is seen. "Beyond blackness " is a thought.

You have not answered to this question :

Can an INHERENT SEE-ER be found? Would anything that is suggested as the see-er, be anything other than a concept/idea/thought?

Hi Warissem,

What do you expect to see beyond blackness ? There is only what is seen. "Beyond blackness " is a thought.
I wanted to see the one who is aware of the darkness.
”When you say there is only what is seen”. Do you mean there is no see-er only seen similarly there is no Look-er only Look.
So there is nothing beyond darkness- only a thought, an imagination, or a perceiver.

Can an INHERENT SEE-ER be found? Would anything that is suggested as the see-er, be anything other than a concept/idea/thought?
No, the more I look the its becoming clearer that an INHERENT SEE-ER can't be found. It is just a concept, idea or thought. It doesn't exist. It is constructed by the ”me”the separate self.
