It's more that they represent different persons, or different versions of me.
Not the literal thought but that what's behind the thought.

What is that? Is there something?

It's about protecting me, or the 'image of an I'. Protectors and projectors. Protectors because they're keeping my construction of I alive. Projectors because they project reality into my awareness.
There's also amusement behind it... about my feeble attempts to describe all this.
