Ok, slow down. Take some time to explore this further. You say that thoughts take place within the body. Can you describe the experience of the body? How does what you call your body show up in experience?Thoughts occur within my being and travel around with my body. Sort of like, where my body goes, my thoughts also go.
Yes, it IS wild! It's wild because the only experience I can see upon looking is what I am aware of. I explain "i" based on knowledge but not experience
Well, look for yourself. Why don't you take some time to actually do this. Get some pen and paper and write down ideas and images about your self.I can experience drawing images and ideas about myself from my past
I think that's experience. What do u think Damon? Is drawing upon our past, our memories, and experience? Or simply an explanation?
Can you explain what you are trying to say here?I never actually said the thoughts came from within my body but from an experience perspective
Ok, so that self that is ever moving, always changing: what is that? There is no me I can go back to that will always be the same. Ever!!
Good ideas. Let me know what comes up when you do this.I could look in the mirror and use words I have learned thru out my life to explain what I see.
thru experience there is no body to hold thoughts.I never actually said the thoughts came from within my body but from an experience perspective
Can you explain what you are trying to say here?
an experience of the sensesOk, so that self that is ever moving, always changing: what is that?
i see all the things about me that have been taught and explained to me. if i was a newborn baby i would only experience my reflectionI could look in the mirror and use words I have learned thru out my life to explain what I see.
Good ideas. Let me know what comes up when you do this
What is your experience, then? Where do thoughts come from? Where do thoughts take place?thru experience there is no body to hold thoughts.
i was taught and told, thru out my life, that the brain inside my head holds my thoughts, but that is not my experience
What is it that is reflected in the mirror, though? In the image that is seen in the mirror, can you pinpoint where exactly the you that you say is reflected is?i see all the things about me that have been taught and explained to me. if i was a newborn baby i would only experience my reflection
that seems much more honest
thoughts are derived thru and in experience while the experience is happeningWhat is your experience, then? Where do thoughts come from? Where do thoughts take place?
"an experience of memories"What is it that is reflected in the mirror, though?
NoIn the image that is seen in the mirror, can you pinpoint where exactly the you that you say is reflected is?
nothing but experienceIt seems that you see that all the stories and ideas there are about our self is not what you are. The question then is, what remains?
nothing in the image is me, i see only the story of me, only the memoryIf you take away all the notions and narratives, what in the image in the mirror is you?
andwhere my body goes, my thoughts also go
Can you describe, in a bit more detail, the actual experience of a physical body?a physical body with the ability to see, smell, touch, feel and hear. and a mind that deciphers information constantly based on my past conditioning
What is it that is seeing the story of you, the memories?nothing in the image is me, i see only the story of me, only the memory
No. There is nothing to describeCan you describe, in a bit more detail, the actual experience of a physical body
Nothing, therefore nothing is known. What is it that is experiencing a physical body? How is this known?
It doesn't.How does the body relate to thoughts exactly?
The conditioned separate selfWhat is it that is seeing the story of you, the memories?
I am not interested in any of these things, i am completely void of any expectationThis is not a way to escape your daily life.
This is not about gaining something extra, becoming something special.
This is not about cultivating an altered state of consciousness.
This isn’t a trick of the mind, or twisting the mind into believing certain thoughts.
This is not about gaining a particular bit of knowledge.
This is not about having a certain thought or sequence of thoughts.
This is not about becoming a holy, good, moral or better person.
This is not a belief, religion, or a philosophy, it not magical or mystical.
This is not going to lead you to eternal peace and happiness, it is not about happiness.
This is not about freedom from emotions and intense feelings.
This is not about getting rid of self, ego, I.
This is not a solution to problems in relationships.
This is not a way to get free of depression or other diseases.
This is not about stopping thoughts, changing thoughts, getting rid of thoughts.
This is not a way to make the story of you disappear.
This is not about convincing you of anything.
This is not something that will lead to accumulation of money or things.
This is not a self improvement program.
The invitation here is to be ruthlessly honest.the answers that are provided are based on experience, do you want my experience or an explanation based on my past conditioning?
And in posing these questions, the point is not to elicit an answer straight away. It's not a quiz or exam. What we are interested in is in getting your thought process out in the open. That is why these short, pithy answers are not helpful here. Can you describe, in a bit more detail, the actual experience of a physical body
What is it that is experiencing a physical body? How is this known?
How does the body relate to thoughts exactly?
What is it that is seeing the story of you, the memories?
