1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
Upon close examination, there is no separate entity.

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
The illusion of a separate self seems to arise when there hasn’t been a close examination to see where it is, what it is, how it operates. Once you really look, you see that no entity can be found. We seem to wander around in a daze without this looking, taking on all sorts of guilt, pain, confusion.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
It creates an openness within. It gives a feeling of connectedness to something totally unknown and unknowable. There is a greater sense of lightness.

4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
I have looked many times but this was done in a slightly different manner. I can’t explain it, but more spaciousness and openness came with this looking and a greater feeling of confidence.

5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for?
There is only thinking and doing happening. They might appear as decision, intention, free will, choice and control, but they are happening without a localized entity.

Please give examples from recent experience.
I especially liked the exercise about raising the right arm and noticing that the thought to raise the right arm actually came after the right arm was raised! I have been watching how thoughts about something that happens actually arise just after they actually happen!

6) Anything to add?
The confidence comes not from thinking that I have figured something out, but rather from knowing there is no one that CAN figure anything out!

Hi again SatChitAnanda!

one of the guides would like to get some clarification on the following...in response to you describing decision, intention, free will, choice and control...

you said
'They might appear as decision, intention, free will, choice and control, but they are happening without a localized entity.'
Could you please expand on this a bit more. Does the concept of free will work without a localized entity that can 'have' it? what about control? describe to me an example from a simple choice that happened in the last 24 hours as it is seen to operate now.

Cheers :) neroli

Yes, I see why you asked this question. It is important to see that there is nothing “appearing” as decision, intention, free will, choice and control. That would mean there was still a subtle illusion of a self.

Last night I went to dinner with friends. There was talking, ordering food, eating and driving home. All happened. There was no self doing any of this. And, there was no sense of a self. There was just doing.

Hi SatChitAnanda :)

I've had the guides confirm you're clear with seeing there is no self and there never was. Yay! So, I've put your LU thread into the confirmation process. You have the opportunity to stay connected to me or anyone else you'd like through the LU facebook group, it's called LU Aftercare if you'd like to check it out.

You can find me floating around there as well :)

It's been a lovely process to go through with you, big love,
neroli

Hello again SatChitAnanda :)

I have to ask you another question - i was too hasty in telling you we had wrapped up here! There is a guide who had not completed the questions for you and I jumped the gun by saying we are done - oplah - we are not :)

Can you please tell me what the sense of self is? From direct experience of course, not from thinking :)

Thanks!

Cheers,
neroli

Hi SatChitAnanda :)

another guide would like some further clarity on question 1 so we're going to revisit it.

Could you respond to the following?

Has there ever been a self?

Your earlier response confirmed that there is no self upon examination. What happens when you are not looking closely?

Cheers :)

I think the belief that there is a self comes from the mind. I think this belief arises with thinking. Without this belief, there is no self. Without thinking there is no self. That is why when you observe closely (i.e. stop thinking), you see there is no self.

Has there ever been a self? Your earlier response confirmed that there is no self upon examination. What happens when you are not looking closely?

Once you see that, in reality, there is no self and never has been a self, the only thing that can alter that seeing is being taken over by the mind and the belief that there is a self operating. In other words, there can be a falling back into the illusion of a self, but it doesn’t last long. When the delusion passes, there is a seeing that happens again.
