Where is the "I" that owns the brain?

If it's not found anywhere, stop there. The idea of the "core baby born before labels" sounds like a spiritually correct answer, and we need to be certain it is an answer which comes from checking the truth of reality.

Just focus on this one question:

Where is the "I" that owns the brain?
Where is the "I" that owns the body?
Whre is the "I" that owns the thoughts?

That is the self that we're looking for.

It is life unveiled. It is life happening. It is the real me, living. It exists inside, outside all around me. It doesn't exist apart from me because it is me.

The unveiled life exists only it has nothing to do with me. It is living now only it is impersonal to me. Me mine I and self are illusion. They do not exist in this moment.

Where did those answers come from? How did you land on them?

I was reading different guide sessions. I saw several places where this work was referred to as no-self. I didn't want to give up any connection to my control. I realized I have always known the life source is impersonal. There is no me except through illusion.

I do not control anything. I was excited and rather liked my previous answer. I believe in a personal life force. Some say god but I don't believe that. I may need to set up camp in front of the gate. Can you guide me to where I could see this life force as totally impersonal. I can through all the other stuff over the cliff except I know I am alive and life is lived on its terms and I am just carried along when I flow with it. This is not a spiritual teaching. This what I see when I look. I need some pointing here Delma. This one is tough for me.

Ok Delma, you got me there. I have no clue. Not a good choice of words. I see one thoughtless flow of maybe intelligence. When all the thought stories and labeling is let go of or seen through then the bare bones me can resonate with life. I am doing the best I can with words where there is no words. I feel close. What can I do to jump the gap?

Whatever energy it is completely impersonal. It is like life happening no one or thing controls it.if all layers of illusion can be seen thru there it is.
I spent the last 24 hours reading conversations in book and on this site looking for a way to get there. The friend who sent me here said this was good. I never question what says. This is very important. There is nothing here I do not understand. Sadly my brain is there but this has to happen for me in a different out of my mind place. My brain gets that it is free. I get that I need to know this freedom in a new way. I keep asking myself your questions.

I don't want you to understand anything here. That won't help you at all and will dig you deeper into intellectualizing.

Can you promise me this.... Can you just drop the reading and teaching until we are finished? This is extremely important. What I'm seeing in this thread is that you're gathering 'correct' answers and that is crowding out the looking. I know that this is not evident to you, but you need to trust this process.

Can you do that? I will give you clear direction, but need you to abandon other readings and teachings only during this period. You can go back to them afterward.

Now, can you check right now for a tangible, real self. Check as if you were checking for house keys in your pocket. If a self is somewhere in the brain or body, it should be immediately evident, even more evident that the objects in front of the body and brain.
