Hello Stacy
Having given the matter some consideration I have decided, for a number of reasons, that I no longer wish to be guided by you.
Thank you for your efforts which I am sure were well intentioned and I wish you well.
Regards
Larry

Re: Ready
That is your choice. Would you mind sharing those reasons?
You can try this with a different guide if you like.
In any case, good luck and
Much love,

Re: Ready
Hi Stacy
I didn't really want to give reasons as I appreciate that you offer your guidance freely but on reflection I suppose it might be considered unfair not to when you've asked.
For context I will say this. I have done a number of pointing exercises from various people, exercises such as 'am I aware', 'who am I', 'who am I without my story or past and future' etc and they have all made sense and indeed have brought me to a place where I have no difficulty seeing that there is no self, no difficulty with letting go of my body mind. I practice doing these exercises throughout the day. How deeply or accurately for want of a better word I am doing this inward looking I don't know and so I was looking to deepen this practice and make sure I was doing it "right".
So in the kindest possible way and not being smart in any way Stacy I have to say that I hadn't the faintest idea what you were talking about. Not a notion. Yes I of course understood the example given of the socks and had no problem with the exercise around lies but this last pointer on colours made no sense. To me.
Let me explain. Prior to the pointers on colours, there was no preamble, no explanation where we were going with regards colours.
So the first question was about a word label green and after your help I understood that a label is not an experience. But then the colour red was mentioned and I sat here, asking myself what the hell red had to do with anything. It had come out of left field. We then moved on to a question does the label green have a one to one relationship with reality or does it suggest something other than what is here now(colour red).
But there is nothing here now only a jumble of made up words. I cannot have a direct experience of anything mentioned because they are just words on a screen. There is no colour red here in my house to have an experience of and certainly not compared to a fictitious green label??
So we were talking of direct experience as opposed to a label but how could I have a direct experience of a colour red that had not been qualified. I don't wish to be rude but these items, green label and colour red are only in your mind and to then say that if I saw the colour green I was hallucinating and that my direct experience was the colour red just didn't and doesn't make sense. Apart from being quite rude.
If you had said to me in advance that a label with green was not a real thing and the colour red was and asked me which one was a direct experience of course I would have said the colour red. But like I say there was no introduction or qualifying remarks. The exercises to me seemed to be like some aptitude test for an airforce pilot or some such thing. Or perhaps a koan. And to be honest life is too short to be trying to figure out these riddles.
You gave me some hints and as part of that discussion I said that the label green was not an experience and you replied "correct". You then asked me to do the exercises again one by one and when I answered to the first question that there was no experience you replied that there was, that the colour red was the experience. But in that question there was no mention of red, so I couldn't reply to a question about a green label experience or lack of saying that red was the experience. In short all I experienced was confusion and some sort of pseudo esoteric exercise.
You then for some reason decided to add tartly " I even told you that". Yes you did, but not for that question. Did you need to throw that comment in or were you simply being intolerant?
So here's the thing Stacy. I'm an artist and a musician. So even when I'm not actually in front of a painting I am quite often directly seeing and experiencing when out and about. How many shades of blue in the sky, different colours of sand etc etc, shadows etc. Artists are always taught to paint what they see. As a musician language has no place in that practice. When I worked with Reiki, massage and reflexology language had no part. I put my hands on a person I don't need language. So for you to trot out this stuff about psychologists and me being language bound is utter nonsense. You don't know me but yet you made this judgement based on nothing more that the fact that I struggled with your pointers. Did you ever consider perhaps that your guidance wasn't working very well or did you just go straight to me being language bound and that I was going to struggle to see that there is no self. Which as I've explained is not true. As for my thinking, I stopped paying any serious attention to my thoughts months ago.
So a light hearted pointer for you Stacy. Who are you without your judgement of me right now? Who are you without your opinion of me right now?
I'm 70 years of age and have started over in life many times. I have been taught and trained, re-taught and retrained many times and have encountered many different styles of training and instruction. All of which I'm fine with. So I'm pretty broadminded and open. Perhaps these exercises are the protocol in Liberation Unleashed, perhaps taken from Jed McKenna and if so, much as I would like to be guided I think it better that I take some other approach. Nothing personal with you Stacy but they simply don't work for me.
I offer you my sincere thanks and appreciate your efforts. You tried and I tried with the best of intentions and it didn't work.
And much love to you Stacy. Take care

Re: Ready
Thank you. I had a feeling it was something like that.
Myself, I'm 66 as of Friday. In 7 years, I've guided over 150 clients to the experience of no self. I also know that the way I do it doesn't work for everyone. That's why I suggested you might try another guide.
You can read through other threads and see if there's anyone you resonate with.
But you may choose not to do that because yes, we're gonna take you through this direct experience, not through "who am I."
Here's an article from one of our 2 founders about the difference. There are other useful articles there, as well.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Re: Ready
Hi Stacy and thank you for your understanding and further guidance.
I read the article and I can see that this way is a more direct 'direct experience'.
150 people is a lot of selfless work so that is a wonderful contribution.
However what puzzles me is this, you seem to know that your way might not have suited me and as you say doesn't suit everybody so in what way may I ask is your way different to others?
I am not fussy as to what way it happens, the Liberation Unleashed way or one of the other variety of ways but I'm curious that if I were to look through the threads what am I looking for?
Thanks again

Re: Ready
Sure it will probably be kind of obvious. I mostly give pointers and discuss those. Others use pointers but they have these long conversations. I don't do that.
