Interesting. You are correct that there is no controller and that thoughts do not control or decide anything.
No feelings or sensations show up.
Please check your gut feeling somewhere in the solar plexus or the heart. Usually there is a feeling of relaxation or expansion or some sort of variation of the truth feeling we discussed before.
We're looking for a shift and perception.

Stacy, thank you. Here is the question again:
How does it FEEL to see this?
No feelings or sensations show up. When I say no feelings or sensations show up, basically in awareness, no thoughts, no major sensations are occuring, some visual and sounds showing up.
I'm not sure if this is the feeling of relaxation or expansion, but with a little bit of intention/concentration, after a couple of minutes, I can sync into the feelings of relaxation and expansion, and stay there with concentration.
However, when I sync into the feelings/sensations, I don't have any feeling of it being truth. Everything just shows up in awareness.

Okay. No need to force orr make up feelings. They will show up when they do.
Here is another pointer. This is something you can do anytime anywhere. It will be kind of your fallback pointer when you don't know what else to do.
ButtChair
Please LOOK for any place where your butt ends & the chair begins.
Is there any clear dividing line between them? Or only the Sensation with no clear division?
It is simple direct & nonverbal. Just LOOK.
Then write what is true.

There is only Sensation with no clear division.

Good.
Being in that awareness regularly can help you to see there's no separate "self."
I did only that pointer for 3 months before I had my shift in perception. It is likely to happen when you relax and are not really thinking about anything.

I will practice on this.
When I do this exercise, I see the visual field (color/image/contour, borders/seperation between objects), while at the same moment sensations show up in awareness. The borders/seperation between objects do feel dual, like there is a seperation. But I can drop the mind slightly and try and see it as blended. However, the duality is still there a little bit.
So my problem may be in the duality being perceived between the objects.
The mind then stiches them together, and concept/labeling occurs.
However, no "self" shows up while investigating the visual (colors/images/contours), or the sensations. But the duality is still there a little bit.
Question Stacy:
Would you be willing to share your experience you had, in detail? Would you be able to share what you noticed in the shift in perception, sensations and/or what other sensing showed up? Particularly around the sensation of the "self". That may be the part that is missing.

Gateless Gatecrashers Ddownload from Resources books here on this site has a dozen more examples.
Yours will be your own & may not match any of these.
First. know that there will still be awareness, but that is not a separate "self."
I was sitting in my car at a stop sign & noticed everything seemed to be glowing. I felt connected, one with everything. That's all.
This is a link to all guided conversations where seeing happens. There are hundreds.

Tried to find mine but it's eluding me.
This is just your mind fighting it. All of these descriptions are now just mental. You will do better to look than ask these questions

Focus on DIRECT EXPERIENCE
Direct or Actual Experience is
Seeing
Hearing
Feeling (Sensation, not emotion. Emotion is Sensation plus made-up thoughts & labels)
Tasting
Smelling
Thoughts Arising (but not their content)
Like this:
Here is an exercise that focuses a person in the present, and in a part of the brain that cannot do anxiety. Basically, go through each sense and say (or think) "I see/ hear/ feel/ taste/ touch ______________." A minute or two of each and usually anxiety is gone.
I see the couch.
I see the keyboard.
I see the glass. Etc.
I hear the train.
I hear the keys clacking.
I hear my breath. Etc.
I feel the couch under my butt.
I feel my fingers on the keys.
I feel the cold air. Etc.
I taste a metallic taste in my mouth.
I taste the coffee.
I taste the food. Etc.
I smell the humidity in the air.
I smell my husband's shampoo.
I smell the soap. Etc.
As far as I can tell, the only time this doesn't work is when someone won't do it.
It is usually used for anxiety, but is excellent for our purposes.

Hey Stacy,
Hope you are having a good day.
When practicing the Butt/Chair and/or other Direct Pointing Exercises (from Headless Way), when/how often do you recommend to practice?
Motivation & interest is down. So need to establish some habits/daily practices.
Any tips to help with motivation?
Thanks

Any tips to help with motivation?
No. Not really.
Motivation is about something you want to do in the future. That would take you out of the present moment. The only tip is to stay in this present moment.
Time Exercise
There is a general assumption that there is linear time that started (if started at all) somewhere very far in the past and advances to the distant future. The present moment (now) is considered to be a very small fragment of time, or an event that is moving forward on a linear line, coming from the past and advancing to the future.
But is there an experience of the ’now’ moving along the line of time?
Any experience of one ‘moment’ giving way to the next?
Is there any actual or direct experience of one event following another?
How fast is the ‘present moment’ actually moving?
Just look at 'this moment', can you find a point where it began?
How long does the ‘now’ last?
Where does the ‘now’ start, and where does it end?
When does the ‘now’ exactly become the 'past'?
What is the ‘past’ in actual experience?
So is there actual experience of ‘time’ or thoughts about ‘time’?
