eyes wide shut? lets open them
Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
Who is the wanter the person that prefers something from another thing? crazy typo
A buddhist monk walks in to a pizza shop and asks the pizza guy, make me one with everything....
What you are and where you are is the samething.

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
I can't find a wanter, but wanting happens in the mind and related to other mental processes such as imagination, evaluation, etc.
Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
how does awareness treat mental processes?

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
It is being aware of them :)
Watching them silently

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
Its kinda light hearted also not heavy handed like the word Control, such a word sounds like you're a person strangling life to fit your views which implies you're some how different from life. Decisions are still made, life goes on but can you find personal will? not to say you can't help change things or be an influence.

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
If there is no "me", who will help to change things and be of influence?
Yesterday I listened to Adyashanti's live program. One of the ideas was "Always choose love".
How can you always choose love, if you don't have personal will. Isn't personal will implied in choosing love?

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
you're right in direct experience there is no entity and no drawing line between happened and happening it's all one flow if you want to call it that.
I love adyashanti but he can only speak from his experience but he may have been speaking to an assumption people have about choice and to choose stillness because in stillness for yourself you can find the truth about those assumptions, to chooses stillness isn't a possibility because nothing chooses just becomes aware of. He can be a Zen trickster to make people see the truth. But me and you don't know, he could have an assumption himself about choice and a person making them but hes a wise teacher so thats unlikely in my view because he seems very clear but not impossible.

You talk about stillness and he talks about love. Is there love in stillness?
If so, you can only become aware of it and there is no choice?

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
The truth consists of everything being one in a great intimacy but thats only from the view of two things joining, you and life but their was never a you living being a concept and separate thing called life.a separation only are views that keep us from seeing it. love isnt my experience like feeling it all the time but like love everything is aload here it doesn't say yes to one thing and no to another even thoughts about yes or no its all here without hindrance which to me is what they mean by unconditional love. Do you believe there is a me here living? and I'm asking honestly.

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
not clearlike love everything is aload here
When I look into my experience I cannot find "me". All I can see is life moving and the awareness of it.Do you believe there is a me here living?
I am still not clear about an answer to a question:
you can only become aware of it and there is no choice?
Thank you for the link, I will watch soon, didn't have time for it yet
Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
Real love is unconditional like the love for your child no matter what happens, awareness allows all sensations here without putting up borders like thoughts judgements are allowed here and now when ever because awareness just allows that all it does just like it does not discriminate against different colors to be here which sounds a lot like love to me. in other words everything is awarenesses children.
the idea of a me here comes in the form of a thought and thoughts just come so when we wake up(awareness being aware of its awareness) a thought can say Im going to be aware now, but you are already aware before and after the thought and most likely when that thought comes through the thoughts may stop for awhile to make way to listen and when that happens the awareness of silence occurs. all happening by themselves.you can only become aware of it and there is no choice?

Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
So then what "choosing love" means?
Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
What does "choosing love" mean? I formed a question not in a right way in English, I noticed my mistake and had a choice to correct it or not. I chose to correct it. Do you meant that when I chose to correct it, it was just a thought, but the sentence was already corrected?
Re: eyes wide shut? lets open them
Do you mean, not meant :) sorry
