Hi Jon,
Hi Sandy, Good looking.
Another great quote from swami Jon. (kidding). I do not think the "self" has any volition. I see it as some sort of translator. It extracts from life, filters and makes it digestible for us to control and cope with our everyday experiences. It may fine tune some things, for example, I have to learn a french tune for tomorrow to teach to adults and their babies. I really don't think it will come from the eternal now, I think I have to rehearse with the "voice over". In this case the "voice over" is much like a limb. It is serving a purpose, and definitely not in control. Love is in control.

It may seem that someone 'controls' and certainly thought provides an impression of a person that controls.

Yes, thought provides speculation, calculation and so on. There is memory too, And thoughts conveniently appear in relation to anticipated events such as learning the French tune.
I have to learn a french tune for tomorrow to teach to adults and their babies. I really don't think it will come from the eternal now,
How not?

How is even thought not (included in) that?

I understand, of course you need to learn. But where is the learning coming from? Somewhere else?

Do you really mind if I call you Guru Jon?

Hi Sandy,

Yes but do you grok this or not? Why/where should an albeit humdrum act of learning happen, outside of Here and Now?

Ok Sandy.

Do you feel I'm wasting your time? Asking obvious questions that are a bit silly?

No Jon, I am being serious, maybe not too serious last night , it was saint Paddies. I actually feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders because I used to take myself seriously. You seriously are like a guru to me and I really appreciate all that you've done. I grok this , Gotta pick up that book again , it's been 20 years.

QQuick reply before site shuts down for renovations. I was genuinely surprised to learn that learning doesn`t happen at the level of selfie.

Great. Thank you. I am so pleased :-)

Ah. Good. I'm so glad you notice that. Does anything, can anything at all happen at the level of selfie? It may seem to. But isn't selfie only really a projection of a story about a selfie and all the things that it is imagined a selfie causes to happen?

Is this clear? If not let me know.

Hello Jon,
|How are you, seems like ages? I had a chance to look at what you wrote and to paraphrase, you are saying that the selfie can only imagine life from it's limited perspective and in my case that perspective more often then not stems from fear or anger. So if the Selfie isn't necessary what function does it serve? Self preservation? I know that the noise inside my head has diminished and I am eternally grateful. Nighty night.
Love,
Sandy

Hello Sandy,

Yes it does feel like ages. I'm fine thanks. Hope you're well.

No, I didn't quite say that. You're suggesting that 'self' is capable of something, capable of imagining life, for example.

I try to avoid telling clients what to believe. I just say...look for any kind of self. Especially one that does imagining life.

Sure, imagining life happens and it seems that there is a 'me' doing the imagining. Where is that one?

Have you found a 'self' that can do anything?

Hello Jon,

When I have been speaking english for awhile I think the selfie translates from english to french, before my being becomes fluently french. Perhaps that is not the "self" but it seems like it is. When I plan out a course it seems to me like I am dialoguing with myself. When I experience beauty, love and joy it seems to be beyond self. Me go dodo.
Sandy
