Hi Barry

I don't know why you asked me if I expect to find relief here from suffering. When I shared about that I was just reporting. I'm here to find clarity and see the truth. As for the magic pill, I really don't know why you asked me about that.

Hi Carolyn,

The reason I said that is that two days ago you wrote:

" yet I have suffering and I still believe in thought"

And before you wrote about a " click"

I thought there maybe be hidden expectations here that something will change immidiatly when you " find this out". So do you maybe expect this?

What is suffering? To what does the thought refer to?

Hi Barry,
I'm responding early since I'm going to be traveling today.
Of course there is some expectation/hope that suffering could end. There are levels of motivation for this conversation. (I also see that is a thought). Foremost is interest and curiosity. I look forward to your questions and where the new exploration will lead.
I do see that suffering is created by thought. Ever since I got to this beautiful desert thought has been contrasting the sadness of leaving with the joys of arriving. I also see the thoughts that create the fear of what Trump will do.
Two days ago I was hiking in a beautiful spot but my thoughts were of a feeling of fragmentation and unhappiness. The more thought tried to fix that the worse it got. In the evening I asked myself-- who is having these feelings? When the answer came-- no one-- the suffering disappeared.

Hi Carolyn,

It isnt a question to be asked but a question to be seen. You are looking for answers.

Again thinking about an answer or wanting an answer are hoax questions since there is no answer to anything in the first place. It simply another empty thought.

There is no clarity nothing to be seen no liberation nothing to find. This conversation isnt leading anywhere.

In a way that is what I call clarity/ liberation.

How do you react to that statement?

Barry

How do you react to that statement? I like that statement. I can see that an answer is merely a thought, "getting an answer" is a fruitless activity.

When you use the word "seeing" -- how do you use it? Seeing with the physical eyes? Seeing with the "mind's eye?"
Could you please write more about seeing/looking.
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,

Seeing is simply what you see. Like a baby. As simply as that just out of your eyes.

There is no such thing as a minds eye. That is just another thought interpretation.

If you look for you keys you look. You see an object and a thought label keys.

You cannot find any I.

Now the question is, can you see an I anywhere if you look similar to the keys. or is ther just a movement happening plus a thought I. Is the I anywhere to be found?

And dont go in any answers what you think or want to know. Just simply look out of your eyes. Its that simple.

Hi Barry,
I have to respond right away since this definition of seeing really changes things. I should have asked for this clarification a long time ago. I have been "looking" with thought all along, not with the eyes. Looking with the eyes is going to be much simpler. No wonder the self and the mind and answers etc can't be seen.

HI Carolyn,

Yes you keep on thinking/ wanting an answer. This will not get you anywhere since there is nothing to find. Although I thought it was clear for you what I meant with seeing and looking :). Just simple seeing into reality, what you always have done from the moment you where born. This is just creating itself covered up by a bunch of labelling.

Again, put some keys on the table:

Can the word keys describe the reality you see when you look? What do you see?

Hi Barry,
In English, the word "see" has several meanings, one of which is intellectual understanding. I know that on several occasions you've said to see like a baby, but that wasn't clear enough for me. Now I know what you mean by seeing.

This is just creating itself covered up by a bunch of labelling. Could you explain this further? What do you mean by creating?

Again, put some keys on the table:

Can the word keys describe the reality you see when you look? What do you see? No, the word "keys" doesn't have anything to do with what I see. I see color and shape.

For several months, I've been seeing that the body is fragmentary. It can never be seen altogether at once-- not my own body or anyone else's. Today I see that that is true of every object. I always only see part of it. The parts I don't see are filled in with imagination. I also assume that each object has an absolute size, which is also imagination.

Hi Carolyn,

About creating:

That there is no you who creates the world. You simply see the world without any effort. Do you operate your eyes?
I've been seeing that the body is fragmentary
No you havent seen that the body is fragmentary. Fragmentary is a thought, body is a thought. That is going into explanatory mode again what the reality is. Reality here now is just a mystery, to me too, im only here to show you that there is no I operating that reality.

Again from seeing (like a baby) your keys:

What do you see, and more importantly how does the process of labelling happens?

Can it be true that you simple see:

An image + thought keys?

Can any thought ever describe the reality what you see?

Hi Barry,

Can it be true that you simple see:

An image + thought keys? Yes, this is all there is. The image of the object plus the thought labeling it.

Can any thought ever describe the reality what you see? No-- thoughts can't describe the reality. In fact, it seems that thoughts aren't connected to the objects at all.

Hi Carolyn,

Thoughts are learned, basically things that other people told you what the reality is or isn't. Every thought can be questioned.

With I being the pillar that holds most of the bullshit together :).

Now if you look with you eyes to the keys again?

Do you create the sight of the keys... or do they simply appear with without any effort, without a I?

Hi Barry,

With I being the pillar that holds most of the bullshit together :). This is a great way to put it!

Now if you look with you eyes to the keys again?

Do you create the sight of the keys... or do they simply appear with without any effort, without a I? The keys appear without any effort. But I never did believe that I created them. I do art and even before I began this conversation with you, even back before I learned about the direct path, I've been aware for several years that "I" don't make the art. It just happens.

Hi Carolyn,

Im sorry I forgot to reply yesterday due to a meeting.

Oke, so you dont create your sights, your sensations, and your listening.

What is your next thought going to be? Is there an I in thinking? Or does thinking also just happen?

Hi Barry,
I thought that you were probably traveling home from Morocco yesterday.

What is your next thought going to be? I don't know! I never know!
Is there an I in thinking? It can appear that there is an I in thinking. But there isn't really anything generating the thoughts.
Or does thinking also just happen? Yes, they do just happen.
