Yes, in the last retreat there were tears of joy and clarity, i do not know my children and an aspiration was born,deep yearning to meet them fresh in each and every moment! this seems to be feel a really hard thing to "achieve"... i want to hope the momentum of surrendering will bring me to this place

Here's a pointer to help you look at "control"


Palm Flipping Exercise

1. Hold a hand in front of you; palm turned down.

2. Now turn the palm up. And down...and up and so on.

Watch like a hawk.

Don't go to thoughts – examine your direct experience.

Do this as many times as you like, and each time inquire:

How is the movement controlled?

Does a thought control it?

Can a ‘controller’ of any description be located?

How is the decision made to turn the hand over? Track any decision point when a thought MADE THE DECISION to turn the hand over and the hand turns over immediately.

Who or what chose which hand - the left or right hand for the exercise?

Can you find a separate individual or anything that is choosing when to turn the palm up or down?

Wow this was mindblowing...confirming experience with such immediate seeing...
i read the exercise and i knew on an intellectual level what the mind would respond... I know...as i have seen tasted this before..
so there was a strong sense of wanting to see with honest hawk eyes into this...direct honest discernment

the first response noted was such an effortless seamless seeing of simply movement happening... movement was noticed it was simply happening...that s it..on its own ...unravellling flip up flip down... a sense of calmness was also noticed in that moment, an ease, effortlessness... a knowing... this is how things are...a relief perhaps ?

then it was noticed that the ego mind was hooked momentarily into doubt " this cant be so easy so plainly hidden in plain sightt" ...so i tried the opposite -a bit of improvisation- mind said " dont turn hand over" and the hand kept turning...
which burst me into laughter ... then the next question, came as the answer to the doubt...who chose which hand...which brought more laughter...
then there was noticed/seen/ that the mind really wanted to "believe" its in control ...oh its so strong!- and so was noticed that the belief in control want to be maintained at all costs...this wasreleased to unconditional love and the seamlessness returned...
this was occuring in a space of what felt like short amount of time...yet i m aware time is yet another concept to be ditched
there really ISNT anyone deciding but the plain illusion we DO at all times!! i havent done much of these type of exercises besides what i once did in mindfulness training; but i found it so DIRECT and real...
it is noticed that the miracle of surrendering is only bringing more experiences to this effect...i wrote about my fears of abundance and money ,i think i did anyway, and so im now asked by one of the people i work with to make them a discount...ego had a story to tell... this keeps giving doesnt it?! oh dear haha
