Thank you for explaining the meanings.Even though I knew these words separately putting them together has brought clarity.
We need to put down the meaning of the words we use. Awareness = being aware = knowing.
What is experienced = experiences. They could be sights, sounds, smells, tastes, sensations, feelings, emotions, thoughts, …
In the basis of the definitions given above, where do you situate Mamta, yourself ?
Mamta is a space in which all experiences take place and that is also knowing.
I am the knower of knowing.
What is a decision other than a thought ? Can a thought take a decision?
First I felt that a decision is a reaction executed by the body. But then if I look at my direct experience I see that thoughts come then ”I”decide whether to follow them or not. For example a thought comes to say, ”I am thirsty, ”I should get some water” then another thought comes to say ”I don't need it yet,”I will get it later”. Then randomly at some point I get up and drink water or sometime I don't drink and forget about it so I think a decision is an action done by the body independent of thoughts. Thought can suggest actions but it's up to the ”I”to follow it or not.I would say no thought can not take a decision.
I was not fully present in the moment to establish that accurately or thoughts are in the autopilot mode they just carry on arising. I believe that the link was thoughts, sensations, sounds and sights.unplesent thoughts, sensations from memories. The image of that person and the words spoken by them.
Can you describe exactly what this link looks like ? Is it a thought, a sensation, a smell, a taste, a sound, a sight ?
.
Being aware don’t stop the thoughts. You are aware all the time long, with thoughts arising or without thoughts arising. Look for yourself
That is true- being aware don't stop the thoughts. ”I”just become aware that thoughts are arising. When thoughts are not arising its nothingness.its emptiness for a short time.
Love
Mamta
