The separate self is basically a bunch of labels and conditioning. An illusion, an ego.Instead of Hi im pure consciousness having an experience as Andy and a car salesman.
Actually, I won't say that, either ...
What is "pure consciousness"? Is that something you learned from books, or some teachers?
Can there be something like impure consciousness?
I was meaning just consciousness :) That which is everything.
I mean consciousness having the experience of my character :)
What do you mean by " the experience of my character"?
I mean consciousness experiencing itself subjectively from the illusion of a separate self.
The "I" is an illusion. Its the ego (the separate self)
What is the separate self?
On a spiritual journey.

Would you give some examples from your everyday life?
Re: On a spiritual journey.
Yes sure :) It feels like the universe is looking through me experiencing itself and also it is looking through everybody else and playing the role of separate people when infact everything is one. Kind of like its playing hide and seek with itself disguised by the illusion of separation,I mean consciousness experiencing itself subjectively from the illusion of a separate self.

Can you say something about drinking water? When drinking water, what's happening?

That sounds like a theory, not what you directly experience and understand.
Please elaborate on "There is just drinking water."
Actually drink water, and tell about it in your own words, without theorizing it. Please report just as you
directly perceive it, and freely express what is happening when "there is just drinking water".

Its more of a feeling and belief than a theory.

By there is just drinking water I mean there is no me as in a separate self to drink the water so basically there is just the action of doing it.

Well there was a process of it going into a mouth and then the sensation of cold as it went down the esophagus into a stomach. There was just a process and no "me" doing it.

Now, what is the illusion when one says "I drank some water"?

Why ask? Are you sure about it, or are you still a bit
skeptical about it?

Ok, thanks. :)
Let's have a look then. What is it that makes you unable to "see" right now?

If at least you intellectually understand that there is no "me," how
can it get in the way? Could you observe how it gets in the way?
And no guessing or "maybe," please. :)
