Hey I
I'm back in full now, sorry for the delay.
So tell me what the difference is between the "me" (the identity) and the "I" (the unidentifiable)? What is your experience of being a "me". Are you bound in any way to the body? What about the mind?
Who is running the show? Is there a you that can be produced and pointed at -> There it is!!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Bohdi,
So tell me what the difference is between the "me" (the identity) and the "I" (the unidentifiable)?
"Me" is words and ideas in the mind. "I" is beyond words.
What is your experience of being a "me"?
Never ending approval seeking and regrets. Plenty of disturbance and striving.
Are you bound in any way to the body? What about the mind?
I feel the body is my viewpoint to the world...so I guess that's bound, kind of - I don't see from someone else's eyes. But "I" feel boundlessly bigger than the body.
Am I bound in any way to the mind? I feel tricked and clouded by the mind most of the time when I'm not in contemplation. I guess I would call that bound. I feel with practice...looking at the truth of who I am more would turn the habitual attention away from the mind into "I" and break the spell :).
Who is running the show?
I feel the mystery is running the show. The unknown is running the show. I feel akin to this but in a quiet uninfluential heart kind of way.
Is there a you that can be produced and pointed at?
It seems the "me" is just an idea created and re-created in the mind.

Hi there "I"
Never ending approval seeking and regrets. Plenty of disturbance and striving.
And what is the manner that this approval speaking, regret, disturbance and striving present themselves apart from thoughts and feelings?
I feel the mystery is running the show. The unknown is running the show. I feel akin to this but in a quiet uninfluential heart kind of way.
Is the unknown knowable?
It seems the "me" is just an idea created and re-created in the mind.
What is your irrefutable and undeniable evidence for this?
Wonderful going "I" - excellent.

Hi there Bohdi,
And what is the manner that this approval speaking, regret, disturbance and striving present themselves apart from thoughts and feelings?
They might present themselves through words and actions. Disturbance and regret seem to generate escape type actions. Sometimes I remember to sit with the feeling and it facilitates it's dissolve. Approval seeking and striving generate people pleasing actions and words. Which then generates regret...
Is the unknown knowable?
I feel the unknown is knowable, is intimately who I am.
What is your irrefutable and undeniable evidence for this?
the "me" is just an idea created and re-created in the mind.
I refer back to the experience I had where there was no little me. There was no little me having limited ownership to its body and things. My body became the same as everything else...everything had equal significance...which was "I" the boundless.
The "I" in that experience is the same "I" now.
The current difference is - when the little me thoughts arise they are believed and enhanced (seemingly out of my control) creating disturbance and wanting which seems to cloud the knowledge of "I".
This is why I crave to live in an environment which cultivates contemplation. Maybe it's not necessary but I'm not convinced it's not.

The "I" in that experience is the same "I" now.
And if that is the true "I" then it should always be there. Is that so?
The current difference is - when the little me thoughts arise they are believed and enhanced (seemingly out of my control) creating disturbance and wanting which seems to cloud the knowledge of "I".
Who is believing and enhancing these thoughts?
If there is knowledge of an "I" then there needs to be a knower of an "I". If there is a knower of the "I" which is separate from the "I" then it is not truly "I".
Who then is the knower and what then is the known?
I feel the unknown is knowable, is intimately who I am.
Can the unknown be known as knowledge - like that of a book? Or is it an intimate "knowingness" that you refer to?
I am very grateful to be in dialogue with you, thank you Bohdi
You are most welcome and it is my honour :)

It is so
Who is believing and enhancing these thoughts?
Believing and enhancing thoughts arise...I don't know where they come from
Who then is the knower and what then is the known?
which seems to cloud the knowledge of "I"
Yes knowledge is not the right word. Ok, seems to cloud the conscious awareness of "I". Seems like "I" is aware of itself.
Can the unknown be known as knowledge - like that of a book? Or is it an intimate "knowingness" that you refer to?
It is intimate knowingness
Thank you,
I

Hey "I"
So if I were to ask you to demonstrate to me the answer to the question "Who am I" - what would your answer be?

Hi Bohdi,
So if I were to ask you to demonstrate to me the answer to the question "Who am I" - what would your answer be?
Silence...being as I am.

Hey I - thanks for the answer.
Now I 'll need you to come out of that silence :)
Could you explain to me, as if I were a child (which I sometimes like to be BTW) what the difference is between "I" and the "little me".
Thanks so much :)

this is hard Bohdi!
Could you explain to me, as if I were a child (which I sometimes like to be BTW) what the difference is between "I" and the "little me".
To a child:
"Little me" is an idea in the mind. You believe you are "little me" when you believe you are your name, your problems or the good things you're proud of. You believe you are "little me" when you believe you don't have enough and believe you are less than someone else. You believe you are "little me" when you believe you are better than someone else.
"I", who you are, is before thought. "I" is what you've always known, the intimate silent you that has never changed.
"I" is all things including the idea of the "little me".

Hey "I"
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.
this is hard Bohdi!
Lol - yes well, it can't all be plain sailing can it? ;)
I like your answer to my question. Now for a further one, how do you know the "little me" is not the real you?

Hey Bohdi,
how do you know the "little me" is not the real you?
The belief in "little me" still appears. There is the belief that I am "little me" sometimes.
How do I know "little me" isn't who I am? "Little me" gets defined and re-defined continually in the mind. The belief in "little me" comes and goes. In the space between "little me" beliefs, what remains is what has always been - the intimate, unchanging, undefinable, boundless "I".
