Re: Any Guides available?

I heard footsteps which were just sounds but almost immediately the mind started to speculate on whether it was a man or a woman & which direction they were heading. It's like the mind was just waiting to pounce on the experience & elaborate by making comparisons & evaluations instead of allowing experience to just "be as it is".
Good morning
Have another look at the feelings that surfaced when you were looking,What were they, were did they come from.

Then take a little time and look at any simple object in nature see what comes up.

Thank You Nina

Hi Nina

When I look at an object in nature there's an openness & feeling of joy.
I can't really pinpoint where this comes from as it feels like it's always there & only gets obscured when the labeling & elaboration kicks in.

I'm trying to keep my answers as concise as possible to avoid over intellectualizing the bare experience.

Look at where thought comes from and how as a child we gained the perception of self.
How did we start to order the world with labelling.

Lovely afternoon to look at the sky

I'm finding it hard to answer that!
Thought just happens, it arises & dissolves in the seeing. It's always been so, labels are just a way of communicating ideas.

A few times today I've noticed a dreamlike quality to what I'm perceiving, a profound stillness where it seems utterly impossible that any individual entity has any reality beyond habitual identification.

The sky was very foggy where I am but beautiful non the less.

Thank you for the above could you please clarify why you find it hard to answer.
It may be helpful for you to look at how thoughts arise. Could you consider this small exercise close your eyes and find the feeling that is always here- the being, , aliveness. Then notice the labelling process, how thoughts come up after experience and the feeling of self can be seen as impersonal feeling + labelling 'me', 'mine'.
You could also consider how as small children we learn to use the word Me, I and Mine.

Thank You Nina

Love and light.

Hi Nina
I was finding it difficult because I don't have any memory of how my perceptions developed as a child.

The beingness, alive presence is always there & I can perceive the mind trying to attach itself to the experience & start to build a story. Almost like a little kid looking for attention. Kind of "Look at me, Look at me I'm the important one here"
It actually doesn't seem so real when I look at it in that way.

What is liberation.
What do you understand < Looking> < Feeling> <Hearing> < Thoughts> <Feelings>
What is liberation for you

Liberation for me would be to drop the identification with the body/mind program & live in the presence of awareness or awareness of presence. Feelings, thoughts, seeing & hearing just happen without ME doing anything, I understand that very well.

More prolonged periods of stillness today, along with a little resistance & anger, it seems like Mr Ego doesn't enjoy this inquiry so much ;)

You are on the right track
.
it seems like Mr Ego doesn't enjoy this inquiry so much

]Then I ask to notice the labelling process, how thoughts come up after experience and feeling of self can be seen as impersonal feeling + labelling 'me', 'mine'.

Then I point to the thought I and me.

It's also just a label and it precedes other labels as a construct of language.

I breaths or breathing happens. If I is just a thought how can it breath?

The whole point of looking at the thought itself is bringing mind to the realisation that I is just a thought. Thought does not think, it only passes by effortlessly, it can not do anything same way

I am going away for a few days and will be back on Sunday Night I feel that you should spend some time looking at thoughts. Looking at Mr Ego and why there is some distress.
I think you will also benefit from a few days letting all this settle and finding out which thoughts surface and how it feels.
Love and Light

Hi Nina hope you had a good weekend.
I was pretty busy traveling & visiting family so not much quiet time. There was an interesting moment when my 6yr old nephew asked my Mum, "Grandma, how do I know what to think"? A lovely pointer from an innocent little being.

Thought's are just experienced in the same way as seeing or hearing. There's nothing personal until attention is focused on the bare experience. In meditation I can see the thoughts dissolve the instant they arise.

I'm still confused about the mind & thinking in the sense that random thoughts arise & I can clearly observe this process but there also seems to be a planner here. Are they two aspects of the same thing & equally empty or is the planner the ego imagining it has this freedom to plan things?

Think it would be great if you answered each question to we can see how near the gate you are?

When you say "I", what are you referring to?
Is there an experiencer experiencing, or is there only experience?
Actually look. Does experience belong to the body, or does the body belong to experience?

When you say "I", what are you referring to?
The sense of presence mostly, it feels as though the small "i" is a character with all it's traits that don't relate directly to what "I AM".
Is there an experiencer experiencing, or is there only experience?
I was looking at this today. Everything is pure experience, always has been. It appears that mind wants to posses it & claim it for itself. It has become noticeable in the space between seeing & thinking that experience just happens. Free of concepts it just IS.
Actually look. Does experience belong to the body, or does the body belong to experience?
The body belongs to experience like everything else. Something is aware of the body, the mind & all phenomena, something more primal I guess.
