I do see how the mind activity is fiction, however, and that the contents cannot be found in reality.

I suppose I must ask you again whether or not you can say with a big fat 'Yes' that the illusion is seen?

Technically what you're saying adds up but this is a matter of more than a technical understanding.

The technical understanding is in place. I’m noticing a lot of looking into thoughts to find any reality to it. Thoughts are empty. They suggest meaning but there is nothing solid or findable.

The self or center of experience cannot be found.

What has changed is the unbelievability of thought content. I can’t say that there is a shift, other than that. Everything seems pretty much the same outside of that.

It is not really possible for me to know, one way or another if there has been a shift or not for you. It isn't for me to judge and in any case if I was asked to do so I wouldn't be able to. In fact you are the one who would tell me if you are clear. As you say there's definitely intellectual understanding.

It's great that you are noticing the role of thoughts and how these operate to create illusion. This noticing is not primarily intellectual, is it? Though there can be many thoughts about it, (which would be and are intellectual).

Noticing is key.

I don't have any more questions for you right now. If you find that after a while you feel you would like to investigate further just let me know or request some guiding from another guide?

Please let me know what you think of what I have said? I'm not closing the door on you if you are still wanting to investigate. I just don't have further questions right now.

Hi Jon,

Samantha here. I had a dream about one week ago where you asked me in the dream if I had seen through the self yet. My initial thought was, “Isn’t that just a little sarcastic?” Lol! But the thought immediately fell away and the next thought was “where could a self that sees through the self even be?” When I awoke I was struck by this and have played with it for the last week.

The self doesn’t exist. It’s an assumption. As are the other fetters. The only place a self can be found is in thought only and thought is not the real. The belief in a self came from the assumption that thought content is the real which is clearly not the case.

I have moved ahead and am looking at fetters 4/5 which were already greatly weakened and also into 6. I may reach out for a guide at some point.

Just thought I’d let you know.
