I have to consciously keep reminding myself that the image is just an illusion.

Of course, even we (the liberated) at times need to stop and remind ourselfs and center ourselfs and be present in the now...The mind can be very seductive and draw you in especially when imagination or fantisizeing is involved...It takes work to stay present...

I still have a strong connection with thoughts.

I'll say this again, take some time and sit down be quite and LOOK! LOOK!! LOOK!!! ... WHAT'S BEHIND THESE THOUGHTS!?..... You said it before there's nothing there RIGHT??
