Good morning

Labeling something a "center" or not is completely unimportant.

We are simply Looking at the fact there's no separate "self."

There's awareness. That won't go away. You'll still know what is happening around you. But your perspective will shift. It will change. You have already read examples of this.

I wrote more about this on Friday, Sept 5th. Please look at that.

Which book did you finish? Gabrieless Gate crashers Liberation Unleashed , Loving What Is, something else?

Stay relaxed

Loving,

Hey Stan, I was watching this and thought of you & a couple of other clients who are stuck in thinking.

Here is something to watch, particularly at about 57 minutes.

Cute! I know this interview. I like Sasha's books too.
The segment about thoughts is nothing new. "not getting on the train" is something I can't reliably do. I can succeed sometimes, but can't sustain. Yet. It is usually as if I am already on the train the moment it appears. I think this is one of the reasons I am here - seeing throught self would leave no-one to board the train.
Anyway, who is there to board the train or not? conunmdrum.
Which book did you finish?
Right, sorry. I finished How to See Through the Self-Illusion by Christiane Michelberger.
I wrote more about this on Friday, Sept 5th. Please look at that.
I did. Not sure about the relevance. As I have said, looks like I already have ingrained tendency to confuse nondual awareness with ideas. You warn me not to do this, but it's done already, so got to fix the confusion.

Anyway, my question about center is not about awareness. I probably should have asked differently. Was there a center for you before awakening? Did you feel like your self is somewhere as a center of attention of sorts?
I am once again confused about headless way. Will have to listen to instructions again...

And what should I do when attention is detached from thoughts anyway? I feel like I don't have any directive. Should it stay in senses? SHould it look for something? Should it keep wathhing thoughts? This lack of direction eventually leads me back into thinking, you know?

To simplify a bit... you told me not to listen to thoughts. Ok, let's say I don't listen to thoughts. Then what?

Pay attention to senses. Yes. If you're confused, you're thinking. Go back to Looking. Or Listening. Or Feeling (Sensation)..

Practice ButtChair. That's your main pointer.

This may force you to look, not think:

ButtChair

Please LOOK for any place where your butt ends & the chair begins.

Is there any clear dividing line between them? Or only the Sensation with no clear division?

It is simple direct & nonverbal. Just LOOK.

Then write what is true.

You can do this. You've watched so.e Dillulo, rght? His videos are good.

Thank you, I will take a look, but no promises, it's hard to find time for something this long...

I have watched https://youtu.be/E7B9m5X17-I?t=438I and it is exactly about a confusion I have with our process here at LU.
Are we dealing with not-finding just the personal self, or also with not-finding the big Self, the witness, the awareness, etc? The lack of clarity in pointing has caused me no small grief.

Also - could you please give the link to the thread you have mention with Vince and a guy? many many pages, fetter 8 or something.

Only the personal "self." I'm pretty sure I have clarified that Awareness remains, but is not a "self."

Yes, here's the link to Todd's thread, but that's him live in the long video. You can watch it in pieces.

Hi,

I explained Awareness vs."self" on Wednesday, August 27th in great detail. Possibly other places, also. Go look.

Did you ever do "Beginning Thinking" from the DropBox?

Stop struggling.
Don't believe your thinking.
Simply LOOK with your eyes.
There's nothing there, is there?

Yes, I did it two times recently. I get it a little bit, but then I doze off. I suppose there is no difference if I look at where thoughts dissappear into?
There's nothing there, is there?
There is nothing there, in the visual field. But only when I look

I see, I will watch the interview in pieces, and thanks for the link.

I have 2 or 3 clients lost in thoughts right now. One of them found this Dillulo guided pointer. Maybe give it a try?

I've watched it this summer.
"So can you just stop thinking? Yes. Just don't produce a thought"
Contradicts most people who say there is no control of thoughts.

I like Byron Katie's take on it.

How to stop a thought? Write it down. There it is. Thought stopped on paper.

So are you LOOKING and ignoring thoughts?
