Any guides available I am ready
Re: Any guides available I am ready
Hi Chris,
So some of my questions may seem repetitive, but I like to get deep into the seeing with my clients, and I question every aspect of their breathing, smelling, seeing, hearing and touching.
"And in reality we are only aware because of awareness itself not some persona who navigates the body."
Is awareness a separate entity that is aware of itself? What is the difference between 'you' being aware and 'awareness' being aware?
"Breathing , seeing , hearing, smelling happens with out any afford on my part.
I don't need to think to be aware of them."
Are thinking and being aware two different things? Are you thinking that you are aware? Are you thinking that awareness is?
Take a look around. What do you see? Do you see 'things'?

Awareness is not a separate entity awareness just is and is aware .
There is no difference between me being aware and awareness being aware awareness just is.
"Are thinking and being aware two different things? Are you thinking that you are aware? Are you thinking that awareness is?"
Thinking and being aware is not the same thing , you can be aware with out thinking.
I don't think I am aware, I am just aware.Awareness is and thinking is happening (thoughts emanate from awareness ).
"Take a look around. What do you see? Do you see 'things'?"
When looking around I see forms that appear to be things. At least they create the illusion of being many things.

Re: Any guides available I am ready
What is awareness for you?
How do you know where thoughts come from? Do you really know they emanate from awareness? How do you see this?
What is creating the illusion of being many things? Is it 'you' creating it?
Just open your eyes. See without trying to see 'something' or 'things'. What do you see?
Do you need a thing to be able to see?

"What is awareness for you?"
Awareness for me is the stillness the unchanging part of me which I can only fully experience when I completely clear my thoughts that cover in a sense the solid (still)part of me which is there all the time .
"How do you know where thoughts come from? Do you really know they emanate from awareness? How do you see this?"
Here I have to be honest with you my previous answer I was more influenced by what I know from non duality teachers then actual experience . In reality from my experience I think that thoughts just appear , a I am not sure of its location but they just do it feels that they are appearing right between my ears but I think it's self imposed because of the brain location. So this is how I see it.
"What is creating the illusion of being many things? Is it 'you' creating it? "
I think 'I' crates the illusion of things because of the labeling so before I see or look I have an idea of what I am going to see and the more objects we can name the more separate things will be seen .

covering my eyes with a lot of movement and colorfulness and space.
No I don't need a thing to see but I need point of interest to even direct my seeing .

Re: Any guides available I am ready
Alright great :)
Is everything really separate? Or like you said, only when you direct your interest you see things?
Does 'I' create the illusion? What is 'I'?

Nice :) You only see things when you believe there are things to see.

So everything seems to be one continues happening ,when we direct our interest towards something in particular( an object), this is when we start seeing it as something separate from everything else .
" Does 'I' create the illusion? What is 'I'?"
So I think 'I' creates the illusion of separate objects to be seen . And 'I' it is our system of believes , conditioning , labels(naming of individual objects),basically it is a cluster of thoughts that creates me a person believed to be a separate entity. That's what I think 'I' is as of lately.

Nice.
Is it 'I' that is creating the illusion? Or is 'I' the illusion?
Tell me what you hear when you just try and ears with your ears wide open.

"Is it 'I' that is creating the illusion? Or is 'I' the illusion?"
Thoughts and mind create 'I' which is illusion that creates separateness. Just considering the 'I' created as separate entity is the very first isolated object separated from everything else. And then the separation of objects continues. That's what I(me, my body-mind) think.
"Tell me what you hear when you just try and hear with your ears wide open."
When I try to listen with me ears wide open, (I live in manhattan where there is a lot to hear all the time) first i hear clear sounds the sharp , distinct ones then after a little while I hear the hiss which is there all the time but being ignored for most of the time cause it is just a hiss, continuing deeper I start hearing or rather feeling the pulsating if my head I guess is the blood pressure it almost sounds like kick drum (on a percussion set). I am not sure if this is what you wanted to hear but that's my direct experience .

Re: Any guides available I am ready
But thoughts come and go all the time. Why then is the thought of 'I' so personal?
Do you have any control over them?
Alright, great description :)
Are you trying to hear things? Just keep your ears open, let the sounds chatter, what do you hear before thought comes in to label those sounds?
Can you hear silence?
Do you have any control over them?

"But thoughts come and go all the time. Why then is the thought of 'I' so personal?"
I think thoughts that create the 'I' store them selfs in the mind giving birth to an ego. That just an idea that I have.
"Do you have any control over them? "
I'd like to think I have control over my thoughts but they appear with out approval they show up and then it's up to us to deal with them.
"Are you trying to hear things? Just keep your ears open, let the sounds chatter, what do you hear before thought comes in to label those sounds? "
I am listening and yes I am singling out
Sounds out in order to capture the whole experience of listening .I am not really trying to hear things but it happens naturally.
I feels like the labeling happens instantly , there are instances that a particular sound would not be recognized (heard) as something existing if not for the labeling. I would hear the sound then the attention is brought to a sound by putting a name to it.
"Can you hear silence?"
I don't know if I can hear the silence, there is a his accompanying all that I am hearing , I think I can feel the silence more then hear it. There are moments that silence takes up more space then individual sounds combined together, if I can even put it this way .Thats what I have experienced so far,but I am going to continue listening maybe something else will reveal itself.

Do you 'think' this is? Or can you see this as part of your direct experience. Tell me what makes it so personal in your direct experience.
Try this exercise:
Go out, point at a rock. You are pointing to show where the rock is.
Does the rock stop existing if you stop pointing?
Can you mistake your fingers for the rock at any point in time?
Call it 'rock', then call it 'my rock'. Is there a difference in feeling?
Lets assume you bought the rock and took it home. It was stolen from you. How would you feel?
Can you actually approve thoughts- what do you mean by dealing with them?
How do you know you are feeling silence. If you were deaf how would you know whether you are hearing sound or silence?

Re: Any guides available I am ready
So I point at the rock and when I stop pointing the rock is still there,I can't mistake the rock at any point in time for my finger the rock remains a rock ,when I just call it a rock, it is a rock , when I call it 'my rock ' I start feeling attachment to that rock , I feel the rock becomes a part of me ,my experience. Assuming I had bought the rock and took it home I would probably get really attached to it and if it got stolen I would probably be hurt knowing my rock is gone for ever.I think thoughts that create the 'I' store them selfs in the mind giving birth to an ego. That just an idea .

So that would be it ,we get attached to the 'I' or any thought as a meter of fact that become close to us for any reason.
By dealing with thoughts I simply meant deciding if the thought should be ignored or welcomed ,how much of a truth particular thought consist of and of course i have no control over thoughts appearing .Can you actually approve thoughts- what do you mean by dealing with them?
I don't know that I can feel the silence, it is more like I can feel my body pulsating while no sound is present .bottom line absents of a sound is silence. If I were deaf I would not know whether I am hearing sound or silence ."How do you know you are feeling silence.
