I have every intention of answering your questions and I have read the article and it was very interesting but I am still really unclear what direct experience is because if thoughts are direct experience then all of imagination is directly experienced is it not
it seems very clear to me that there is an I or a self at the centre of experience and all of experience radiates out from it a bit like spokes on a bicycle wheel me in the middle and everything else which happens going on around or maybe like a sphere of experience but within the experience there is me

Re: Guide Available
Ok Hen,
Where do thoughts come from?
Look at the mind as labeling machine. It labels the experience as soon as perception happens. Is it true?
Look at feelings. Are they personal? Or are they, in the core, impersonal feeling + the labeling of mind?
Look at the energy of feeling, is it personal?
Look at the thoughts/feelings connection.
Thoughts trigger feelings -> feeling gets labeled -> new trigger -> more intense feeling, which leeds to vicious feedback loop. That goes constantly when it's believed that "I" is in the centre of experience, is it true?

Konrad

Re: Guide Available
thoughts come from electrical signals in my brain
sometimes my mind labels things but not everything that happens
my feelings are very personal because nobody else is having them
sometimes they are in the core but sometimes they are not
they are definitely not impersonal and sometimes they are hard to label
the energy of feeling is definitely person yes you are right it is personal
what do you mean thoughts/feelings connection you have not explained this yet
yes it is definitely true that "I" is in the centre of experience yes you are right

Re: Guide Available
Ok, you believe that there is a "you", somewhere.
The point of this conversation is to SEE that there is no such thing as "you". Is there a possbility that this is true? That there is no you at all? And everything happens on its own, without "you"?
Can YOU choose a thought and think it?
Does the labeling process of mind requires a YOU to happen?
Do YOU feel the feeling, or is there just a feeling + the label "I" ?

Re: Guide Available
yes there is a direct experience of my body
there is no possibility that there is no me I can see my body
maybe things would just carry on without me if I die but I am responsible for some of the things which happen like feeding the rabbits and taking the rubbish out
this I that I am pointing to looks like a woman it is pear shaped and it is pinkish brown and it is a size 14 unless I eat lots of ice cream then sometimes it might be a size 16 but hopefully I can stop before I get that fat

Re: Guide Available
I don't understand the question and it seems like you are being rude
I am getting enlightened and I am following your instructions and answering your questions
I know how this is supposed to work but when I try and answer your questions I get the answers I am giving you
You say there is no me but there obviously is otherwise I could not type this
I mean whose hands are they then if they are not mine
