Reminding you of this:
And I did see! I saw that sense of self is a mirage and I saw that it’s just a sense (like a scent, perfume) that belongs to the body that is assumed to have or own these different things like memories, feelings, emotions etc but in reality they are just appearing together with this sense of self. They are not linked in the way I think. The sense of self is like ”hockey”. What is hockey? Can you find hockey? No you can find players and ice and pucks and fans. Where is hockey?
So why did you get fooled again when a man put the red Santa Claus suit on?

You have already SEEN that it is only a man. No conviction is required.

Can you see that?
No I can’t see that they are lies, then I wouldn’t have said it.
So why did you get fooled again when a man put the red Santa Claus suit on?
You have already SEEN that it is only a man. No conviction is required.
That is a memory now, my current seeing is the one I described earlier. Wouldn’t referring to a memory be lying more than describing my current reality?

You feel the contraction. You know it's lying.

Sure, a memory is a form of lying.

You can't describe anything as a self that doesn't cause you the lie contraction.

But knock yourself out and keep looking until you're sure.

You have everything you need to know for sure right here in this thread. Maybe re-read it.

Hi Stacy,

I have now seen through self.
After a 2h long meditation session last night I saw that the idea of self is just a mental projection that is created and maintained by the mind.

Just like my mental image of any other individual is just an internal mix of memories and emotions, so is the internal image of my self. It is not an entity that lives in a body but rather the mind creating an internal image of itself out of images/emotions. Its just a function.

After this the contraction we have talked about released and I went to bed without a single worry, a single doubt and for the first time in my adult life being 100% content and feeling peaceful and "home".

Upon awakening this morning the insight had not been overclouded again like previous times and the contraction is still gone.
I feel light and carefree, like a burden has been lifted off my shoulders.

One thing that still remains though is the sense of doership, being in control of actions.
I will inquire into this too. If there is no self - how can there be a doer? :)
I understand that there isn't one but I want to see it with the same clarity that I have seen through the illusion of self.

That's great!

Try this one. Report how it FEELS to SEE.

Doership Exercise

You see that there is no self to be found. Now let’s have a look at the feeling of being a 'doer’.

Take a few relaxed breaths to let the dust settle for a while, and then: Look on your right.

Then look on your left.

Finally, bring your head back to centre, close your eyes and look in front.

Okay, so when you look on the right, the view on the right is seen (whatever that is).

When you look on the left, the view on the left is seen (whatever that is).

And then, when you look in front of you with eyes closed, the view in front is seen (ie ‘black space’).

So, when the view on the right is seen, do you have the ‘choice’ not to see? I’m not asking can you ‘choose’ to see something else like another view or ‘black space’ if you close your eyes. The question is; can you turn seeing off?

Can you NOT see what is seen?

Same thing with the view on the left, can you NOT see the view on the left?

Same thing with the view in front with closed eyes, can you NOT see the ‘black space’?

Can you turn off seeing?

What did the 'chooser' choose?

Did a 'self' choose something?

If you are unable to choose what you're aware of, then what else is there to choose?

Hi Stacy,

Not been posting for some time as you know.
Been busy adjusting to things.
Have felt a lot more love lately.
A lot more non-resistance.
And a lot more of everything.
Still needing more time to adjust.

The exercise you posted didn’t do much at all.
I think I need to do some more settling in before continuing.

Did visit a local Buddhist temple this morning.
It was horrible. Speak soon!

Thank you

All sounds good.

When you're ready, no rush, please answer these. Your answers will be shared with other guides, who may have questions.

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.

4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?

5) Describe decision & give examples from experience.

Describe intention & give examples from experience.

Describe free will & give examples from experience.

Describe choice & give examples from experience.

Describe control & give examples from experience.

What makes things happen? How does it work?

What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.

6) Anything to add?

Loving,
~ Stacy
