Becoming No One
Re: Becoming No One
Did butt-chair for 10 minutes on a bench. Noticed the sensation of butt against bench. Noticed thoughts, sounds, other body sensations. Always came back to the butt-bench sensation. The separation cannot be found in any of the experiences. The concept is in the mind as thoughts. Or even a belief. Somehow I must be holding on to it because otherwise I would be able to clearly say without a doubt "no, there obviously is no separation, just sensations". No shift in perspective. Not done.

Re: Becoming No One
It sounded like you were trying to do them all day long.
It IS good to do them in the middle of your day, but we aren't trying to do practices 24/7.
Seeing is just as likely to occur when you are not practicing. It can sneak up on you.
You're doing fine. Keep posting.
Much love,

Yeah, maybe I was too ambitious and trying to do this too much. It's good to relax a bit more.
I did Perceiving Receiving today.
I was very tired and gave in to that and fell into a short nap. Then continued when I woke up.
The question I asked was "How can I experience peace permanently". Again, I didn't try to logically understand the instruction of being the receiver with my whole body. Just tried to relax. It felt very present, peaceful, and effortless. Thoughts came, but they were just part of what was received among other sensations. It was easy to let them pass. When it came to receiving the "I" I couldn't recognize this. I think, I am going to repeat this one before I move to the next.

Re: Becoming No One
Yes, relaxation is good for sure.
I practiced butt-chair for 10 min just now. (Should I practice it longer, maybe, if I can?)
Stayed with the butt-chair sensation, while other sensations came into awareness. Hearing rain drops, thunder. Thoughts, but not sticky. Always went back to butt-chair. Other body sensations. At some point I noticed this thought which was an image of myself sitting on the bench. There was something funny about it and a brief sense of dissolving, a brief shift. Then I got excited and thoughts rushed in. Then it was all as usual again.
Got a free evening tonight, and I am going to do some more practicing.

What do you mean by that? Should I not post at all, then, or just not mention it? My intention is to post at least once every day. There is no need to tell me when you're not done. Tell me when you feel you are done.

Re: Becoming No One
Did 20 min of butt-chair again. It was harder to focus, or stay focused this time. Other than that, nothing worth mentioning.
I intended to do Perceiving and Receiving again, but then I was curious and wanted to move to the next, so I did Release and Receive.
It was interesting to notice this longing feeling in the body. For me, it was mainly in the stomach area. It's also interesting that getting what you long for feels good not because you then have what you wanted, but because the longing feeling goes away. I think I could also feel the "I" thought as a contraction. Subtle. After releasing, it wasn't gone completely. It's the lie feeling, and it has become easier to identify it now.

Re: Becoming No One
Did 20 min of butt-chair today. While I did this, I mixed in some of the things from the last Dropbox practice (by who is this btw., and what should I call it?), that I did yesterday, Release and Receive. Sometimes, I felt a contraction, e.g. when I tried to remember my name. But, e.g. when I thought "I am sitting on a bench and there is a separation between me and the bench", I didn't sense it so clearly. Is it ok to mix these practices?
Haven't had a chance to do the next Dropbox exercise, yet. I had listened to them up to #9 on the side while doing chores. However, they need focus. It's not possible for me to follow the instructions when I am doing other things. And just listening doesn't really work for me.

Re: Becoming No One
Yes, you can mix them.
Call them IAM Meditations (Instant Advanced Meditations).
No, I can't say who he us. I promised not to. He did that & then went into a totally different business.
So, good. Keep posting.
We are looking for a shift in perception. It is likely to creep up on you when you're least expecting it. You must be relaxed.

Re: Becoming No One
I am trying to relax. But that is easier said than done sometimes.
Sometimes I get stressed about the fact that I get caught up in thoughts. And then I get stressed about getting stressed.
Need to accept anything that is, even being stressed or thoughts about being stressed. As in "Loving What Is".
Btw. I read to where they suggest to fill out the worksheet and apply the questions to it. So that's what I am going to do next, when I have some time.
Did butt-chair today for 10 min. Planning on continuing with IAM tonight (hopefully).
