Re: awakening
If you can help seeing through that sense (of the body as center), that might be the trick....

Good evening
Move in front of a high mirror and look at the mirror : what do you see ? describe what you see.
Is the image in the mirror seeing you ?
Let me know about what is arising up

Re: awakening
I see an image of a body and surroundings. I can see the surface of the mirror, too. There is a feeling of surprise at considering that "my" experience is never that of seeing a face unless in front of a reflective surface. The image is not seeing me as it is a reflection. Ok, I'm looking again. The self is only a reflection, right? It is a projected thing not "real in itself". The feeling of "being a body" is the same "reality" as the image in the mirror.
I have been just sitting for a few minutes with eyes closed and seeing that what is is experience(ed) and there is just that. I think I'm getting it!!!

Good evening
In your post "I" is used many times. What is this "I" pointing to ? Look 24/7.
Best wishes

Re: awakening
"I" will do that! It seems as if it is conventional shorthand for "where" things are appearing. Like, when i say something occurs "to me," it could just as well be said that "something occurs." It does seem like in the I naming, there is a sense of separation that is brought in or referred to...

Re: awakening
I spent a fair amount of time with this. The "I" in the sentence could be said to be "here" I think while preserving everything that is felt.
So, It could be said that "there was attending to the requested observation, here."
or the I could be a placeholder for the space in which appearances arise...

Re: awakening
Hi Matt
Your answer does not come from direct experience. LOOK at this "I" as you look at the screen. A screen can be described, can you describe "I", the separate self ?

Re: awakening
There is not a sense that "it" can be described except a kind of space. Or a knowing of experience, or perception. It feels like "where" things happen.

Good evening
having said that, look at this : there is no you, no separate self, it never was, it will never be. What is arising when you read this statement.

You are leaning too much on thoughts. Come back to direct experience which is seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching (sensations). When an answer is given, it must be seen for sure. It won't help to give answers through the mind. There is not a sense that "it" can be described except a kind of space. Or a knowing of experience, or perception. It feels like "where" things happen.

Re: awakening
It sounds like there is a request to provide a concept via a word explanation. I don't see that as being possible.
In looking at the statement provided, I know there is no "thing" that is a "me". There is experience. There is a happening. Beneath any idea of what that is, is just is. There is Just happening, but it cannot be the words substituted for it.
