Awaiting 1 - 1 guide
Awaiting 1 - 1 guide
I had some remarkable awakening experiences last year and whilst the experience lasted for some months and still is there to a degree it seems to be on the wane and having found your site via facebook feel guidance would be of value.
Re: Awaiting 1 - 1 guide
Hey, great you made it here!
Can you please explain to me what these experiences were like and what brought you 'out' of them?
What is the difference between now and then?

This isn't about belief or some grandiose ideology. It's simply taking off the blinkers and getting a good, honest look at what's real.

Re: Awaiting 1 - 1 guide
Hi Rikki,
I'd met a wonderful chap in India who gave me A New Earth - Eckart Tolle.. it didn't happen immediately but then things changed - life just seemed to radiate and I felt a oneness with all that was around me.. Everything just seemed to have a glow! I was walking round with a smile (for what) i knew not! In Nepal I was laid on a bed and I heard a bird sing - it resonated deep within - in a instance, a feeling of deep joy flooded my being - this feeling was fleeting, lasting only moments but then stayed with me for the rest of the day..
Now, I still feel the oneness with all but the peace, joy isn't there to the same degree and I have the same bogged down feelings as before! I know that things change and that life's pressures are there even after an awakened experience but it's frustrating - hence the question!
I look forward to your reply.
Warm Regards,
Ian.

Re: Awaiting 1 - 1 guide
I always found that pre-liberation, after i'd read Eckhart Tolle, it would give you this deep, peaceful, warm feeling for a while but it would never last. I also found this when reading the 'Tao de Ching'.
If we look at what's happening, is that the mind identifies with thoughts right? So, if we have calm, peaceful thoughts, then it will create calm, peaceful feelings in the body. Makes sense right? But then we 'get back to real life' and the stresses that can bring as we go about our day, and we wonder why we don't feel this deep peace still.
We lost it. Damn.
But it's the same mechanism at work, it's just the other side of the coin. Identification with thoughts, creating feelings in the body.
After liberation, thoughts still happen, otherwise you'd be a blissed out zombie which probably isn't great when you can't use your mind to remember what time to pick the kids up from school! So we need that function for practical matters, it's a tool. And a great one, but just a tool.
Liberation is seeing things as they truly are. The mind has created this self, this me that is a complete fiction. It's not true, and you live life through this perception filter. A barrier between looking, and reality. Just look at that for a second, you're looking at life through a fog.
This self, this me, is it real Jim?
Is who you think you are, really you?
It's essential to have stability in reality...
