And the idea that eyes see and that there are eyes won’t go away. There has never been a separate ‘you’ and the idea of eyes and eyes seeing have always been there….yes? Same with location. The idea of location will remain as well.Kay, when you ask, and when I look to find answers, I can honesty say that the only AE of eyes is sensation and mental image, but that kind of doesn`t shake the assumption once and for all of "eyes" being here. Also with the inside and outside. You say without thought no location, but there is thought, so there is an aparent location dependent on thought. What exactly is the ‘back’? The back of what exactly? The head? Back of the eyes? Where would the back of non-existent eyes be and what would it look like?
Thought doesn't stop telling you that it's your car, your job, your body, your craving, your preference, your pain, your happiness, your this and your that. Why would thought stop saying something just because it's seen what thoughts are.
It's never been any other way. So it is only an expectation that thought will suddenly change its tune.
It’s my job to make sure that you are clear about what is being pointed at. If it seems you aren’t sure, I will keep giving questions until it is. Although the clarity does seem to get murky, and it will, looking is the key. What was interesting is that maybe now I get more what you were pointing to, was confirming again and again till yesterday that without thought, I wouldn`t have any clue of there being eyes or head, NOT A SINGLE EVIDENCE of eyes is found that is not thought, simply not an experience. They aren`t even visually evident, like hands for example.
Beautiful LOOKING with the drink exercise!
And the idea of being the chooser will appear, however, there becomes a knowing that it is just a story….but that absolute knowing takes time.Althought I`m not getting the feeling of being the chooser because didn´t experience that, at least this time.
Okay…let’s have a look at the body with this exercise.
Sit with eyes closed for about 15 minutes.
Paying attention only to the pure sensations, without relying on thoughts or mental images:
Can it be known how tall the body is?
Does the body have a weight or volume?
In the actual experience does the body have a shape or a form?
Is there a boundary between the body and the clothing?
Is there a boundary between the body and the chair?
Is there an inside or an outside? If there is an inside - inside of what exactly?
If there is an outside, the outside of what exactly?
What does the word/label ‘body’ ACTUALLY refer to?
What is the ACTUAL experience of the body?
Look very carefully, especially with the last question. Take your time, don’t rush. You can look several times during the day while doing other things (like washing hands, showering, having a short break from work, walking, etc.) before replying.
Love, Kay
