Hi

Could you give me some guidance, I feel like I don't know what to do anymore. I recognise that 'I' is just a thought so do I just let life flow because 'I' doesn't do anything. I can see how this is 'me' trying to control what to do though kind of stuck at the moment and feeling upset and frustrated that last night's writing was of no use and an overwhelming feeling that I have to write it again while I have a heap of assignments to do.

Just feeling deflated and not really motivated at the moment..

Can you help please?

Thank you.

Hi Nanami,

There Is no pressure on you to do this. No time limit. But doing it will give you access to a network of people and help that you’ll most likely find useful.

Why not start a Word document. Copy the questions over. Add the answer you’ve already written to question 1 (it would help to have them all posted together). Then leave it. Writing will happen when writing happens.

I get that it’s frustrating to have that happen. But it’s happened. Gone. Where does it exist now?

Do your assignments!

And if that is not enough, look to your experience. What is the actual experience of feeling frustrated? Of feeling overwhelmed?

It’s not just thought. There is sensation too. Explore the sensation. Be with it, not against it. Invite it in.

Notice the story about the sensation.

It's all happening. But a belief about that is no use. It needs to be seen again and again. Look what's going on - actually going on. It's simple but 'we' make it complicated.

See how you get on with that.

Be well,

Aragon

Hi

Thanks for replying, I think I'm upset because it's a build-up of all the times life hasn't gone 'my' way. But like you said 'its all happening' and then there is a belief that I am this individual person that has to manage my life. I just really want to get out of this 'I' and felt frustrated that all the effort was gone.

Ok I will reply with the answers when I am ready which is probably soon

Thank you, have a nice day

Hey :)

Just wanted to make an update and so I can clarify for myself as well,
It all just happens naturally and effortlessly doesn't it! When I was doing my asignment last time which is usually such a pain and my 'mind' comes in trying to control, I realised everything happens by itself. And with other activities as well! The body knows what to do, and here I thought 'I' had to control everything though what a selfish idea that is! :)

Even thoughts passing by, they happen naturally and 'I' don't have to do a thing or even to resist it. It's just allowed, it's a natural process. I feel like I'm still in this process though, thoughts do come in and I get lost on what I should do..

Anyway thanks for being patient, I would like to keep seeing where this takes me

Nanami

Hi Nanami!

Nice!

What could resist? What is still on the process?

Hi, hope youve been well
I've written the answers to the questions though not sure if I'm 100% correct but see how it goes.
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
An 'I' only exist as a thought in the imagination. It has never existed in reality because there is only life happening. No little piece of selves existing, this is just a belief in an I thought, there is only one life flowing.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
The illusion of a separate self is the belief in the entity called 'I'. It probably starts when we are younger and learn that we embody a separate body and are responsible for our actions. In my experience, it works by these 'I' thoughts coming up saying what to do and planning how and when to do things. It's a constant chattering thing that runs on its own.
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
I feel I can trust in life more and know that everything happens on automatic. When I am outdoors it's very nice to see that everything is just happening, that it is just life happening. And it's interesting to see the process of thoughts coming and taking ownership of actions when I can now see that there is no doer.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
It was a gradual process I think. First there was the realisation that the very personal voice in my head was just another thought and realising that everything happens on automatic.
5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
Since there is no 'I', there must not be any free will or decisions to make since its all just life. There is a thought that says 'I' have control when in actuality, its just a thought and thoughts cannot act or have an affect or do anything, because its just a thought. Life just makes things happen and I feel there is no one to be responsible since we have no control..?

I feel like all the past conditioning has made me this person with the certain likes and dislikes which would mean that it was life that put all this in place. Like with getting up in the morning, it feels like I have a choice on when to wake up; to sleep in or to get up straight away, but its actually past conditioning that makes me do what I do.. (I think). Also, it feels like 'I' was the one who chose to write on this forum but it was actually just done and then an 'I' thought came and attached itself to the doing.
6) Anything to add?
Not really.. I still have doubts though as there was no distinct point, it was more a gradual process, and I still kind of do get caught up in the 'I' story that suffers but then this is probably just an unrealistic expectation..

Thank you :)

Hi Nanami,

Thanks for your answers! There are no right answers, and it's not about being correct!

I have no further questions for you at this time. I'm going to ask the other guides to have a look. They may want to ask you for clarification, and if this does happen, I will relay the questions - it's totally normal for this to happen... so I recommend just relaxing and going with it.

Whatever happens, I will be in touch soon...

Be well,

Speak soon,

Aragon

Hi Nanami, a point of clarification has appeared for you!

Please write when you feel ready:

'Tell me more about these doubts Nanami, what are they? Be as specific as you can though'.

Many thanks!
