G'day mt. Let's go through these questions to see if there is any identification remaining (at the moment)
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
2) "Describe your experience of the illusion of separate self, how it arises/disappears. Is that process always the same, or does it vary, and if so, how?"
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
6) Anything to add?

Re: A friend suggested I request vince for direct inquiry?
Dear Vince,
1. Is there a separate entity “self,” “me,” “I,” at all, anywhere, in any way, shape, or form? Was there ever?
No, at no time was there a separate self. A separate self is an illusion.
2. Describe your experience of the illusion of separate self, how it arises/disappears. Is that process always the same, or does it vary, and if so, how?
The separate self seems to arise through the attachment to thoughts. Attached thoughts seem to create concepts and stories—a sort of conditioning. The concepts and stories create the illusion of separation.
The illusion of a separate self seems to disappear when focus/awareness is on the observing/perceiving of sensations and thoughts as they arise/disappear.
As for variation in this process, I suppose the mind might attach to thoughts, concepts, and stories that say it is different, but that would only be more thought. So, no, I don’t see how it could vary.
3. How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
When i started the dialogue, thoughts/concepts/stories were less perceivable. Now, they are more easily observable. Wednesday, during the massage experience, perceiving of sensation, thoughts, the rising of story, and the disappearance of story appeared to be much more pronounced. Friday, after what seemed sufficient sleep, the thought came, “I am so fatigued. My mind is tired. Every thing is story.“ That seems significant.
4. What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
Again, perceiving during the massage session seemed much clearer and distinct than in the past. There was a noticing of patterns of sensations of the arising/disappearing of pulsing of my hands, seeing my body movements not guided by thought, and hearing verbal input of the client. There was a rising of thought that patterns of sensation did not logically correlate with the client’s input on the rising/diminishing of intensity of pain. There was also a noticing that the mind was attempting to attach a reason or story to the experiencing. But no story attached. It was allowed to remain mystery. Interestingly enough, despite continuing pain, the client appeared ok with the experience and even made another appointment! Lol. It seems that entire experiencing was “mind-boggling” enough to maybe push me over.
5. Describe decision, intention, free will, choice, and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
Decision, intention, free will, choice, and control are only attached thoughts or conditioning of the mind that give an illusion of having some sort of control. There is only perceiving of sensation and thought.
I don’t know what makes things happen or how anything works. All I know is that there is happening.
I am not responsible for anything. There is only perceiving of sensations and thoughts as they arise and disappear. In my “personal” experiencing, there has been clearer seeing beneath/beyond thoughts, so it appears that there is a dropping away of some thought conditioning. Now, when thoughts arise, there is more of a tendency to notice them as thoughts/stories/concepts with less attachment—or if there is attachment, there is more of a perceiving of it as an attached thought.
6. Anything to add?
I don’t think so. Thank you!

Good morning mt.
thanks

Another guide has asked; "what is this mind and what can mind do please?"I suppose the mind might attach to thoughts, ...My mind is tired. ...conditioning of the mind ...the mind was attempting to attach a reason
thanks

Re: A friend suggested I request vince for direct inquiry?
Hi, Vince,
“What is this mind and what can it do?”
Well, I really cannot determine “mind” to be a “thing.” The “mind” appears to be only tangles of thought streams/stories/conditioning. So, I don’t imagine it can DO anything as “it” is just thoughts. Even the word “tangles” could be a sort of story on “mind.” Defining “mind” in any way seems to be thoughts/concepts/more story. So, I’ll stop there. : )
Thank you,
mtrose

Have a bit of a rant on how this attachment works. What exactly is it ?Now, when thoughts arise, there is more of a tendency to notice them as thoughts/stories/concepts with less attachment—or if there is attachment, there is more of a perceiving of it as an attached thought.

Re: A friend suggested I request vince for direct inquiry?
Oh my! Got me there! Lol. Seems that is concept/thought/speculation/story-making, too!
"Perceiving of it as an attached thought" is not "perceiving." It is just more thought calling itself perceiving!
So, if i "rant," isn't that just more thoughts as well? : )
And interestingly, this quotation is arising from thought--lol--with liberty taken on the last word--
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to "perceive."
(Sir Walter Scott)
Thank you!

Re: A friend suggested I request vince for direct inquiry?
mt, several other guides have found no obvious remnant identification. This mean that you will be invited to join a Facebook group, my story is that the intent of the group it to introduce 'freshly gated' to others with similar experiences, so that a focus is maintained, at least until new habits are established.
There is also an opportunity to start another forum thread (called Further investigation) where only you and other guides (or guide) can explore whatever...
Friend me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/vince.schubert) and we'll have continuing contact.
This thread will be locked & archived and your name (mtrose) will turn blue. (probably within 24hrs)
You will get an invitation by email.

You are welcome, and thank you too.
Do consider guiding when you settle in. There is an ever increasing number arriving at the 'gate'.
