As a next step, there are further six questions to ask as part of this guiding process. The response is then shared with other guides. They may or may not have further questions.
Once it is confirmed by other guides that seeing through the illusion of the self has happened, our conversation in this thread will come to an end, however you won’t be left alone. There is a whole community of others on FB, who have also seen through the ‘self’. Actually, there are several groups to join.
So here are the questions. Please answer as clearly as possible and with as much detail as needed. Don’t forget to add everyday examples from your experience for question 5.
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form?
No
Was there ever?
No
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
The "illusion" is believing thoughts and feelings and the "separate self" is that it is happening to a "me". I really don't know when it starts or how it works , for instance, "does feeling come first, does life happen and a story starts , does a judgement creep in and then feelings follow ? Not sure but this is how it tries to regenerate itself now.
3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
There is a lot of joy now in being free from seeing the separate self and always thinking about it and it feels very quiet and calm. One big difference is physically , I had a tremor of the head and that has subsided a lot in the past week.
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
This question, " Who is it that knows a tree is a tree? In looking for that answer realization came, that was a name attached to a form, it could have been called anything, it isn't "tree" , it just is. I am not a "Jane" it's a form called "Jane" just like a tree, a house, a chair etc. Everything is , as it is. In seeing that , everything was seen from a different point of view. It separated everything from thought of what it's called. Thoughts became the separateness and the "I" I thought I was, is non existent.
5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
I don't know what makes things happen, I don't know how all this works, I am responsible to make my bed, clean the house, (laughing) I don't know and no one is responsible. I am just living each moment in whatever comes. Whatever response comes in regards to what is, is just what it is. Interaction with other people has changed a lot, I see others differently now, when they tell their stories and complain and jump from past to future. It's almost comical at times. Also there is not a need to interject my opinion anymore and that feels freeing. " No one is responsible" is a relief because it's just what it is, nothing and everything.
6) Anything to add?
Just in summary, in letting everything be as it is , has been awesome. To put into words what "looking" is, almost sounds like another concept until you "look" again and then you see "it's truth". Only way I can explain it . To think about it , it becomes a concept but to "look at it with the heart" it is true.
