Anything we might say about others is only a thought and the story it tells. We have no actual experience of others, just as we have no experience of a separate self, when we distill the moment in direct experience as it is now. Every single thing in this seamless experience happening now is known through perception. We know perception because this knowing presence is permeated through and through with the knowing of itself only.Thanks. Looking at you questions I see there is no end to perception other than a thought in the present moment. What is now is perception there is other than thought. The thought of other people comes to mind when we speak of this and their experience being different. I guess this is what may be tripping me up a little. It also brings me back to the thought of a separate self.
If there is no self, how could there be others? The only thing that stands between us and others is the conditioning accumulated through memory. We have believed in self and others for so long that it takes time for the sense of others to come undone. Once we have seen clearly that there is no self, the stage has been set for all the implications of this realization to take effect in everything we perceive. Others is a story, we do not experience others as a separate self.
If there is no self, how could there be others?
If I have no control over what thoughts appear, how can I control the appearance of another perception of a seeming body-mind complex we are calling an other?
This total seamless perception happens without any effort. Like a mighty river, there is no stopping this flow of life. It is only another thought that creates the impression that a false separation exists. Dropping the belief in our thinking, that the present moment should somehow be different than it is, is liberation. Liberation to experiencing this life as it is, not how we *think* it should be.
