LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
My understanding so far is that we have all been identified with our thoughts, that have created different identities and beliefs that we believe are “us”. Seeing there is no real inherent self, we are all one consciousness is what I’ve felt called to be here for.
What are you looking for at LU?
In 2019 my 12 year marriage ended. My businesses were at their peak. No matter how successful I became there was always a feeling of being a fraud. Like I didn’t deserve it. Then during Covid I was forced to close those businesses down. It took 3 years to find work and in that time, because of lack of finances I lost custody of my 3 children. In that time I have been broken down completely and have been led to spirituality and awakening through many many experiences. That is what I’m looking for.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
My expectation is that working with a collective who have experienced awakening, will bring me to the experience of awakening. I’ve felt so alone in this journey until I was led to information and videos of people talking about going through a lot of the same things and also being led to awakening. For the first time in my life I felt held by something universal.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I’ve been meditating since my early 20’s. I’ve done yoga, silent retreats, yoga retreats, read spiritual awakening and presence books. My experience sounds like most who are led here. I’ve consumed as much logical information to try and learn about what I’m being called to. And now I know I won’t learn my way into it. It is an experience that would would love help with.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10
