Intro
LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
There is only a silent, expansive, loving peace within the ground of being. The ego identifies with thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and sensations to construct an ongoing, engaging narrative that perpetuates it and distracts from the direct experience of the ground of being which is accessible when those attachments are dropped once and for all.
What are you looking for at LU?
I would like guidance on effective ways to unhook from thoughts that maintain my ego identification and to direct my attention to the immediate awareness of no self. I also would like help releasing from my addictive, repetitive return to my narrative.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I imagine that a guide would effectively help me achieve the goals outlined above by wisely guiding me in ways to direct my attention so that I might realize no self and let go of my fascination with my ego narrative.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I have engaged in mindfulness meditation off and on for over 30 years but I haven’t been that disciplined in my practice in the past decade. I also have read a number of non-duality books which have helped me experience tastes of no-self. The most helpful approach has been to unhook from thoughts and orient to the spacious silence beyond thought and to relax into that.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?

Hi,
First question: why only 8 on the last question about willingness to question beliefs about a self?

I chose 8 because that is an honest assessment of my commitment to this process. I am not routinely spending several hours each day engaged in self inquiry. I sense that, if I did commit more time to this process, there would be movement but I hold back for some reason. Perhaps I doubt the outcome or am too attached to other meaningless pastimes.

Re: Intro
Fair enough. This will only take a few minutes each day. Truthfully, seeing happens in an instant.

My name is Stacy and I can be your guide, if you would like.
One thing that is helpful is to come to this forum
& post every day. Sometimes the site goes down. It will be back. Just come back later.
Yes, if once in a while you must post later, please post a note telling me when you will return.
If you haven't already read the disclaimer, please read it now and just confirm to me that you have read it. Here is the link.
http://liberationunleashed.com/disclaimer-2/
Also please read “Liberation Unleashed is not …” in the FAQ’s of LU. Here is the link.
http://liberationunleashed.com/about/faq/#faq-1041
Some housekeeping guidelines:
1. Post at least once a day, or every second day. If you need more time, or are unable to post for several days, just write a quick post on your thread to let me know please.
2. There is no one judging answers given, so please be 100% honest in your answers and inquiry.
3. This exploration is based on actual experience (AE) - smell, taste, sound, sensation, color and observed thoughts. Long-winded analytical and philosophical answers are best avoided and may even hinder progress. This is not a self-improvement process. There is no ‘self’ to improve.
4. Put aside all other teachings, philosophies, rituals, practices, books/reading and so on for the remainder of this investigation. Really put all your effort and attention in to seeing this reality, as it is. If you have a daily meditation practice, it is fine to continue that but is not necessary for this exploration.
Technology is not perfect and sometimes there is a glitch which can wipe out your responses. It is advisable that you copy and paste questions asked into Word, answer them there and then copy and paste them to your thread. Always save a copy of what you have done, it will save time in the long run!
To begin with, so that we both become aware of what your expectations are about this exploration. In your own words (not from actual experience, but just honest answers), could you please answer the 4 following questions:
How will life change?
How will you change?
What will be different?
What is missing?
Throughout this exploration I would like you to answer all questions that I have written in blue text. Please answer all questions even if I miss using the blue text.
Please answer questions individually, remembering to use the quote function to highlight the question being answered.
Below is a link to the video with instructions on using the Quote Function. Please watch it. Use the PREVIEW button to make sure your text looks right before you hit "SUBMIT."

Re: Intro
I don't usually share this first, but for where you're at, I'd like for you to listen to this Introduction before we start.

There are about a dozen recorded pointers following this & I may share more later, but just the intro for now.

How will life change?
I doubt that life will change, if you mean the everyday circumstances of life, the ups and downs, etc.
How will you change?
Here’s where my ego gets involved and wants an eternal, heavenly shift in perspective with peace, subtle bliss, presence being the ongoing nature of my realized reality. I see a shift in realized beings that seems to manifest this so it’s understandable that my ego wants that.
What will be different?
The main difference will be the lack of sense of self at the center of everything with its related story that contributes to so much suffering - I need more of this and less of that; why did they treat me that way?; how can I feel better about myself?
What is missing?
Not sure what this question means. What will be missing after realization? Self-centered experiencing.

I might need more handholding with the quote function. The link you provided wasn’t a hyperlink and when I pasted it into Google it didn’t retrieve anything.
BTW, I did answer each question separately so I’m a bit confused.

Hi,
No. You won't turn into a 24/7 bliss bunny. But otherwise fairly reasonable.
What is missing? means right now. What is missing?
Much love,

“What is missing right now?”
Too much egocentric blather in the mind space as well as impulsive grasping at things that provide momentary pleasure. That’s what is here now so that which is missing is less attachment to mental chatter and self- stories and more acceptance of what is.

Please review the quote function & send your reply again.
It's simple. Block the question. Click Quote (above).
It is not optional. I read on my phone. and it will also matter when we submit your checkpoint questions for other guides to review later.

If it’s simply blocking the question and then selecting the quote sign, it should be easy.
