Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Hope your weekend has been great?
The questions, from direct experience...
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
No self ever existed, it was thoughts and sensations all along that created the illusion.. There ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento:-)
Is your understanding visceral now?
Yes the understanding is visceral, the intellectual understanding is now seen to arise/pop out without a self as a doer. The experience comes in waves, but are beyond the storytelling from thoughts.

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Does time exist as reality, or is it more like a concept?
Time is merely a concept, a useful tool.
Does the "I" exist in any form other than a thought?
No, in direct experience there´s no I, there are only thoughts claiming to be the I.
Now, do you have anything you want to further ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento:-)
Yes, yes. :) What do you feel when you recognize that there is only now?
Much more aware of what is happening - sounds, sight, sensations, thoughts etc. No all consuming thoughts about past and future.
Is "now" graspable?
Could you try to grasp it in any way?
Whenever you try to ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Do thoughts look forward to something?
No, thoughts only comment.
Can anything be permanent?
No, nothing is permanent, everything is in flux and changes constantly. There are waves of identifying with thoughts and putting attention on LOOKing. When LOOKing, thoughts say that the self ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento :-)
Yes, yes. It can't really be located.
So, what is it? Can you LOOK again and describe it?
I´m not sure what to look for and describe? In terms of the pressure, this was just a specific sensation which thoughts assumed to be located in the head - which in fact wasn´t located anywhere ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Sorry that I didn´t reply yesterday.
Good, do you feel the dreamlike quality of recalled scenes = past?
Yes quite clearly.
Please feel again the "self" assumed to be in the head.
Can you feel the sensations in the head?
Does any particular (distinct) sensation appear there?
Does ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
I'm a teacher. I took my students to Vancouver so that they can study in one of the language
schools there. This is my first year as a homeroom teacher, and, since schools in Japan start
in April, I've been pretty much busy preparing for it, right after coming back from Canada.

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Welcome back, hope it was a successful trip? Can I ask what you work with? I can relate, as I´m also VERY busy with work myself these days. It is also during work that I forget LOOKING, due to the heavy workload and tight deadlines.

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Hope you´ve had a nice weekend:-)
You sound a bit like making unwatchfulness a problem (correct me if I'm wrong ...).
For whom is that a problem?
Are there two separate, concrete human 'states' called "mindful" and 'unmindful,' or
are these part of the movement of Life? LOOK ...

Re: Looking for some guidance
Hi Kento
Thank you for the nice questions
I am going to a family event today and probably don't get an opportunity to post a reply... I'll post tomorrow.
In the meantime I'll try to locate myself.
Have a nice day, looking forward to continue :-)
Best regards,
Pedersen

Re: Looking for some guidance
Point at the one that is aware. Did you point at a particular
place or object?
I first pointed at my body, then more precisely at my head - pinpointing a specific place in the head it feels vaguely like it's behind my eyes in the middle of the head.. Then looking deeper it disappears, there's no ...
