Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hi there 'Dridhamati', sorry about the long gap , there has been illness, there still is.

Question one
- no there IS no 'self' which appears under different guises.
- ' out of touch with direct experience' and living in the delusion of an 'I' and therefore lost and reactive. No 'I' there, just ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hi Dhridamati. . . .. yes I get that 'the gate' is a metaphore. . . I wrote it out like that just for my own clarity as to what you were meaning.

So now the gate is open wht IS the next step ? . . . . I have several 'missing bits' I would like to be clearer about. . . .. . subjective realities ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Thank you Dridhamati
To summarize

1. The realization ' direct experience is more reliable' than [optional] verbalization which to only to soom extent represents reality. UN LOCKING THE GATE [metaphorically]
2. ' the self' like 'the flower' is a functional concept with no absolute fixed intrinsic ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hello there Dridhamati

How does this realisation feel? Is this something that is deeply 'seen', or is there doubt? **

It 'feels' completely straightforward and normal.
I am not sure how'deeply ' seen this realization is . . . . . . . but no doubt I am aware of , just very straightforward.

If ...

Tuesday 19th August

" What does the realization that 'verbalization is optional' mean in terms of what can be relied on as reality OR is experience of life MORE REAL than subsequent verbalization "
Direct experience feels more reliable Dridhamati

I am not sure what you mean by verbalization ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Thursday 14th August.

Hello Dridhamati. . . . all is well here.

I have been enjoying following the directions you gave last week [Aug 5th] and as you say there are many opportunities

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hello Dridhamati, this is SO challenging emotionally but the steps about accepting the urge to conceptualize etc very clear and useful.

I see that the raw sensation 'resistance on the skin' is more 'real' direct or primary experience than the concepts involved in ' hand moving thru water' which ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hello Dridhamati,

Thank you for you post.
YES mistrust of [my] experience IS a major issue for me. Thanks for flagging it, I will be on the lookout when it arises and resist the urge to test/ verify and conceptualize expereince.
To the degree I am able.

It is difficult for me to seperate

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Sorry about the use of 'objective experience' Dhridhamati.... I think I am confused . . .. imagined expereince IS expereinced isn't it? . . . but the first 'hand in water activity' was expereinced objectively . . . . ie when I put the wet hand on paper it leaves a mark . . .. . .yet when I placed ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Hello Dridhamati,

In the 'wet hand ' experiement the 1st exercise results in the hand being wet [both 'hand' and 'wetness' are concepts], 2nd ' my hand is in the water' results only in imagined wetness and so the 1st is closer to objective reality .

YES we are agreed about 'raw sensations' and ...

Re: Guiding request for Driddhamati

Question 1: would you say that this [Direct experience] is entirely new, that the organism called Akampiya has never 'experienced'?

Question 2: can you please describe the entire process of seeing a mug on a table? (the physical sensation part, then what happens in the mind.)

Remember: in your ...
