Hi Boris,
The conviction that Iceland is 'out there'is a believed thought -
Is this thought beieved by someone/something? Or is it just that other thoughts say that this thought is true?
One example which I could have knowledge of is dreams, I often know I have been dreaming but cant remember ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris,
I'm back :)
1st? I can see lines in my face so a clear experience and I can remember not having so many, so a memory, but more accurately a bit of deductive reasoning.
Yes, only a memory. Is memory anything more than a thought showing up right now? Is it an evidence that something ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris. I am having some huge internet issues here. I wont be able to reply in the next few days or so. In the meanwhile take a look: What is this "conviction"that Ireland is out there? If thoughts say that ireland must be out there, does it mean it is really somewhere out there?

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris,
The thought about posture?facial lines etc is fairly recent, the thought is that I wouldn't of had the notion without the years of developing a posture/lines etc, the thought comes in relation to reflected apon experience.
Is that relection upon experience or reflection upon memories ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris,
In regard to the posture question - yes it does arise as a thought that my posture denotes past habits or lines in my face past emotions. However the thought would not come without the history of my posture/facial lines etc.
How do you know that?
so how come I have my memories and ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris,
There is no being who has memories. There are just memories. Nothing and no one is having them.there is this being here who has these memories rather than your memories.

Re: looking for a guide
Appologies for the delay.
But Firstly - yes it is the memory of hair being different that implies a greying through time.
Yes, exactly. Is this memory anything more than a thought showing up right now?
The thought "thats true" just shows up in thinking,
Does the thought 'thats true' mean that ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi
Looking at my greying hair, tells me there is a changing through time, implying a past.
Look at the hair: Is the color of the hair suugesting that the hair is greying? Or are memories of hair being different imlying that is greying?
I know this is 'just a thought', but I am thinking, a true ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi
Center of sentience is broadly locatable to me, this person here, the sense that if I ceased to exist, there would be no awareness of beyond and within the boundary of skin that is me - experience arises from both sides of that divide.
Let's put aside what might happen some time in the future ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi Boris,
When i examine my experience, I discover it kind of does itself, with a very limited capacity to be directed in a willful way.
There is no capacity at all to be directed in a willful way.
There is a lack of control over what enters my mind but not a doubt that sense impressions ...

Re: looking for a guide
Hi,
What do you mean when you say sentience? And what what do you mean when you say sentient being?
As for memories, you are not dragging them from anywhere, they just show up.
Take a look at this dream analogy that shows how time is contained in an instant:
In the opening instant of a dream ...
