Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John! I guess the time is finally right to get these answers posted here. :D

1) Is there a 'me', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever? how about self, is there anything that is separate from everything else?

No, there is no me, at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Truly, feeling like a broken record here. :)

If not tomorrow, then I should have time on Friday or this weekend.

If I have time to answer just a few at a time, I might try that as well.

Thank you for your patience,
Jamie

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

I have had no time to even get started on this. I'm so ready to sit down and write my answers but life has been busy this week.

So I'm just doing my daily checking in to let you know I'm still here and just haven't had time to work on it yet. :)

Talk soon!

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John! :)

So please explore these statements:

When thoughts arise, they arise to no-one.
When feelings arise, they arise to no-one.

Sit with those, and when thoughts or feeling arise, take a close look for any sense of self to whom they are being shown. If you do sense that, look at the story ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Thank you so much for your response. :)

Enjoying the most beautiful of days. Open windows, cool breezes, big blue skies and puffy clouds. So lovely!

I'll think this over and will write back again tomorrow.

Many thanks and talk soon,
Jamie

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Whether we are there yet or not, only you will know truly. :)

Fair enough! I think I am there, but it's just a matter of allowing it to deepen, to become more a part of everyday life, as you say. To be more in the experience mode or at least being more aware that story mode is happening ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Today was mostly spent in the back and forth again. Getting absorbed in work, thoughts about what to eat, "planning" for what is going to happen next, etc. Moments of reminders to look at direct experience, take off the labels, etc. I wasn't feeling 100% today, so I think there was a lot ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Today, again, most time was spent in story mode, some time spent in experience mode.

Today, when there was the opportunity, I would ask what in this moment is real and what is story. When I did this, everything NOW became sharper, in focus, all the sensations and awareness of the current ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John! :)

Here is a snippet of today thus far...

Going between modes, back and forth. Spending a lot of time lost in the story of Jamie.

Then, moments of viewing from the perspective of experience.

Then other moments where it all feels dream-like and magical. These come up without any ...

It is seen. :)
Woot! Now it's my turn for a little leap! :)
Share with me the ongoing experiences of seeing this.
Okay. Will do!

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi again, John!

Feel free to continue to explore the labeling. I would also like to offer another approach...

I was actually working on this just as you wrote your last post, so here's what I had written up to that point:

Was looking at a coaster with a month calendar on the back. First I ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

I tried the not-labeling exercise for awhile today. Thoughts tended to want to change objects after a few moments with one object.

I attempted focusing on the parts of the objects that have no label as well, as suggested.

Not much to report except I got really sleepy and took a nap ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Not as much opportunity today as I would have hoped, but I will continue over the weekend. Today used a clock as my object for a little while. Can't say much "melting" was felt. :) But I will keep at the removing labels exercise as I have time over the next couple days.

Happy weekend ...

Re: Looking for a guide.

Hi John,

Thank you very much for both detailed posts.

I didn't have much time to practice these exercises today, nor time to write anything detailed myself. Even though that was the case, I very much appreciate what you wrote. :)

There was a moment while I was walking from work to my car, about a ...
