Re: 'I' think 'I' know 'I' am an illusion... some help would be appreciated
What I meant by others-defining is that you let other people define your worth. We have a trade-off in being accepted by others and being our own person. If I were to insist on farting a lot, this may make my social circle smaller. I think we can participate in social give-and-take for the most part ...

Hi,
Sharing my thoughts below. I've spent a lot of time in the psych/philosophy space before and after I had my "seeing", because that is what I am passionate about and do for a living.
This is interesting

Hi,
Apologies if this is off-topic, feel free to not get into it... What would you suggest if one knows that a negative emotion (eg. guilt) is irrational (based on irrational beliefs) but yet the physical feeling of the emotion remains? Could the emotion itself be conditioned into the organism ...

Hi,
I love the word 'discernment' - it's been hanging around in my brain all week. I agree that it is the key. I sometimes struggle to trust myself. I have a tendency to want to be told 'the truth' by an authority I can trust. I am often especially anxious to have my opinions and lifestyle ...

Re: Intense fear
When you have this again, watch for thought to arise from the silence. What is it telling you? What is the tone of that voice, the internal volume?
You might try getting used to the silence, look into it, realize that it does not mean lack of existence.
When you are lost in thought, what is the ...

Hi,
Some good thoughts there and some good questions also.
My experience has been that the "self" program is old and well grooved-in. It will continue to "act as if" it is the big deal, the controller etc. You can not really forget that you now "know", but self can run over the top of this.

Also, let me know how you are doing in general...sleeping ok, eating, taking care of yourself, family/work stress.
Are feeling grounded, struggling to get a grip?
How can I most help? If we had a magic wand, what would your ask be right now?

Re: Intense fear
No, it's not thoughts. It's identification with thought (with my old self). I learned that last night. I had a hard time falling asleep and fear came up because I was zooming in and out. The background and the self are "fighting" for attention (?) and I was not able to let go and fall in the gap ...

Re: Intense fear
Hi,
Don't worry, everything is as it is.
I understand that and I also feel that but this is where I'm switching from "yes, of course" to "wait a minute". Accepting this is hard even though I know it's true. My brain tries to look for a loop hole.
When you feel the switching....what is the ...

Re: Intense fear
Wonderful!
I'm practicing that right now. I'm trying techniques to get through the clouds.
For me it's a bit like balancing on a rope. Thoughts are the wind gusts that make me lose my balance and then I fall out of the gap back in the clouds. "Everything is automatic"..."let it all flow, don't ...

I think you are in a good place right now, you can see it, and you are letting it settle in.
Sometimes you get caught up in the thoughts, and sometimes you see the process a little sooner. This is how it goes.
I'll come back to this again, because I myself and many others find it a helpful place ...

Re: Intense fear
I'm wondering if letting things settle a bit is a good plan, perhaps work on one little thing and let that be an anchor, things like "tiger in your head or in the room" as you like this one, also "things have always been this way beneath thought".

Re: Intense fear
I like this a lot
Yesterday night, lying in bed, I full on experianced "emptiness" the first time outside of meditation. It actually was an awesome feeling but also intimidating.
You don't need to take something to see this, although it is not common to experience it.
Would you please tell me ...

Hi Stephen,
You are making some good progress! It takes a while to see though the veil of the conceptual...it is not taught to us in normal channels.
Nobody has said that the game isn't real. You have the scores and the memories.
What we are looking at is WHO is owning this information?
