Re: Seeking to see the no-self

I've been trying it, maybe I'm overthinking it because I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be feeling. When I stop thinking there's a feeling of peace, quiet and oneness as I just look at the sensation, I don't know if that's what I'm supposed to feel or not.

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Honestly I don't feel anything about it, it's just is and I'm ok with that. There was mental tension initially in having to find a dividing line, but just looking and accepting there's a sensation there feels ok.

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Is there any clear dividing line between them? Or only the Sensation with no clear division?
Did this quite a few times, the only answer I can come up with is there's no division border, just the sensation of pressure

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

I think I am getting it, often times it happens when the mind is quiet and I realize movement is happening all the time without thought, I'm looking at it instead of thinking about it.

I've also bought Ilona's book 'Liberation Unleashed', that has been helping a lot, and I will look into the book ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Once again, how could a thought cause movement? Please explain in detail.

I had to think about this one a little while longer, it made more sense to think of other movements aside from the
exercise. For example, breathing and walking.

Thought can influence movement by giving a direction and ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Did it ever move without "intention? " How could a thought cause movement? Please explain in detail.

I'm sandwiching these questions together as one answer flows into the next.

Yes, it moved quite a bit without intention, but initially intention/thought to do the exercise started the process of ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

How is the movement controlled?

I don't know, it's the brain and the body doing the moving.

Does a thought control it?

No, there is an intention to do it, and a thought about that intention, but the body moves on it's own.

Can a ‘controller’ of any description be located?

Outside of ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

What about the content of thoughts, what they describe?

They describe previous experiences, overlapping direct present experience.

Is there really an ‘apple’ here, or only color and a thought ABOUT ‘apple’?

The content of thoughts about an 'apple' are not here, just the color/object and ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Thank you for sharing those, that makes so much more sense now. There was a silly expectation that it would
be like a lightbulb moment that was permanent, but it needs time.

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Can you see this?
I think so...the realization sort of fades in and out, going between normal "I" consciousness and seeing that.

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

When you look at the word label ‘GREEN' , what is the actual experience?

I see the word in red but see the color Green in my head

Is the color red ‘experienced’, or is the color green ‘experienced’ as the label suggests?

The red is what I see in reality, the green is just imagined.

Does the ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

What is found?

I lied to my boss about why I was late the other day, there was a tightness/constriction in the face, chest and gut

Do you see that?

Yes, looking back at yesterday's exercise, in the "I" portion the body constricted.

The second portion the body opened, the contraction began ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

1. Is one truer than the other, and If so, which one?

It's basically the same thing happening, events are still occurring, after the second 10 min. block, in hindsight the labeling in the first 10 min. felt unnecessary. So I suppose it isn't whether it's truer or not, one just doesn't have ...

Re: Seeking to see the no-self

Post several of your own observations in a list *exactly* like the one above, please.

Ok, hope these are correct:

Thought about brushing teeth= thought
Seeing the brush= image/color
Holding brush, moving it in mouth=sensation
tasting the toothpaste= taste
hearing the sound of brushing= hearing ...
